A Bump in the Road
A day has passed in there two day journey to Sunagakure. They have reached the desert and most of the villagers are exhausted from the day’s journey so they have made camp on the desert. Tents were set up to give the villagers some shade and Neji, Lee and Konohomaru are patrolling the perimeter protecting the camp from any potential threats. Sakura is walking around and has found Naruto in his tent looking at a map.
Sakura: Hello, Naruto.
Naruto: Oh hello Sakura I’m just looking at the map to determine how much time is left before we get to Sunagakure but it’s harder than I thought.
Naruto scratches his head as Sakura walks over and looks at the map and notices all of the scribbles and false calculations on it.
Sakura: Well this map has been wasted, do you have another one?
Naruto: I don’t know I’ll look around.
Naruto begins to look for a map but he’s having a lot of trouble finding one. Sakura notices a rolled up sheet of paper and walks over and unravels it.
Naruto: I don’t think I have a spare map Sakura.
Naruto turns to face Sakura and sees that she is holding up a spare map.
Naruto: You know me I’m not that good at looking for things.
Sakura: It’s okay, Naruto.
Sakura places the map on the table and begins to work out how long we have left until we get to Sunagakure.
Sakura: We have exactly four hours and 28 minutes.
Naruto: You always were good with stuff like that Sakura. Now what do you want?
Sakura: What do you mean?
Naruto: You came to me remember.
Sakura: Oh yes I just wanted to talk about Sasuke.
The expression on Naruto’s face went from an enquiring look to a worrying look.
Naruto: What about Sasuke?
Sakura: I’m worried that he’ll never go back to the way he was before back when we were Genin.
Naruto: Sakura, Sasuke and I will fight and I hope that when that fight is over he will go back to the way he was before but if the worst happens and we both die I do not want you to be sad because of it.
Sakura begins to cry and Naruto pulls her into a soft hug.
Sakura: I don’t want either of you to die promise me that won’t happen.
Naruto: *sigh* I promise Sakura. I won’t die and Sasuke won’t die either. I still have to bring him back don’t I, I made the promise of a life time.
Sakura begins to remember the day at Konoha’s front gate when she asked Naruto to bring Sasuke back.
Sakura: Thank you, Naruto.
BOOM!
Sakura and Naruto jumped at the sound of the explosion and ran outside of the tent and saw a huge bird flying across the sky. Konohomaru, Neji and Lee run up to Naruto and begin to tell him what has happened.
Konohomaru: Naruto, bombs have been dropped from that bird up there and we can’t get to it.
Konohomaru was interrupted by 100’s of bombs being dropped over the camp. Everyone began to worry but Naruto stayed completely calm.
Naruto: All of you get my kunai and throw them at all of the bombs.
They all ran in and grabbed Naruto’s kunai and began to throw them at the falling bombs then Naruto began to disappear and reappear beside all of the bombs, knocking all of them away from the camp and then reappears on top of the bird and saw a familiar face.
Naruto: Deidara, first Tobi now you it must be the Edo Tensei that damn Kabuto again.
Deidara: Uzumaki Naruto, well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes the last time we met I was armless but here I am both arms back and ready to show you my best art yet.
Deidara took out a small clay penguin and dropped it off the side of the bird and just as it was half way down it blew up in size and it became thirty times bigger. It was just about to hit the camp when the sand on the ground raised up very quickly and completely engulfed the clay penguin and contained the explosion.
Naruto: What? Sand? Is that Gaara down there?
Deidara: Noooo! I hate when that boy does that!
Naruto notices Gaara standing on the camps boundaries looking like he is ready for his revenge.
