The Evacuation of Konoha
Naruto is in his office trying to finish the mountain of paper work he has on his desk but he is doing it half-heartedly because he keeps thinking about what Tobi said last night.
Naruto: -I’ve been the Hokage almost a day now and a war has already been declared, that really wasn’t how I imagined my first day as Hokage-.
Naruto slowly gets up from his chair and walks over to the window where he can see all of the happy villagers getting on with their lives not knowing that a war is coming in less than a week.
Knock, Knock
Naruto: Come in.
Shikamaru opens the door, walks in and slowly closes it behind him.
Shikamaru: Lord Hokage.....
Naruto: Shikamaru please just call me Naruto, okay
Shikamaru: Okay. Naruto we must evacuate the villager’s before we begin our military preparations.
Naruto: Yes, we should but where should we evacuate them to.
Naruto spends a short time thinking of a place and finally the answer comes to him.
Naruto: Send a messenger bird to Gaara to ask him if we can evacuate the villagers to Sunagakure and tell him that I will be personally escorting them.
Shikamaru: I’ll ask them to send the fastest bird we have.
Naruto: Good idea, Shikamaru.
A day has passed and we now find Shikamaru walking hurriedly towards the Hokage’s office with a neatly folded note clasped in his hand.
Knock, Knock
Naruto: Come in, Shikamaru
Shikamaru walks in and quickly closes the door behind him.
Shikamaru: How did you know it was me?
Naruto: I saw Gaara’s messenger bird come in fifteen minutes ago. What is his answer?
Shikamaru: Shikamaru opens the piece of paper with the message written inside and reads it aloud “Congratulations Naruto on becoming the Hokage. I will do anything in my power to help you in a time of great struggle so as soon as you get this message begin to evacuate the villagers of Konoha to Sunagakure”.
Naruto: -I knew it thank you Gaara- Shikamaru I want every chuunin rank or higher ninja you can find on top of this building in five minutes.
Shikamaru: Yes, Naruto.
With that Shikamaru left the room in search of other ninja to help in the evacuation. Naruto then left his office and made his way up to the roof where he found thirty very capable ninja all of which were standing in columns.
Naruto: All of you have been gathered here because we are evacuating the villagers to Sunagakure. I know this is very sudden but it has to be done, I am putting one person in charge of this evacuation and that is you Konohomaru.
Konohomaru was shocked at what Naruto had said but just stood there with his head down. Naruto walks over to Konohomaru and tilts his head up.
Naruto: Konohomaru, I wouldn’t put you in charge if I thought you weren’t capable, besides I’m coming along with you so don’t look so scared.
Konohomaru: Okay, Naruto I’ll do my best.
Naruto: That’s exactly what I wanted to hear. Now I want everyone else to go with Konohomaru and begin rounding up all of the villagers, and then take them to the East Gate. But do not leave until I get there. Before you all go I want the following people to stay Kakashi-Sensei, Sakura, Lee and Neji.
The four people that were asked to stay didn’t move a muscle but the rest left to round up all of the villagers.
Naruto: I have asked you four to stay because I have special tasks for you. Kakashi-Sensei I want you to be in charge of the village while I’m gone, take all of the appropriate measures to fortify the village and prepare it for war. Sakura, Lee and Neji you three will be coming with Konohomaru and I to Sunagakure in order to protect the villagers.
Kakashi: I will, Naruto.
Sakura, Lee and Neji: You got it.
Lee begins to throw punches and kicks to the air while Neji shakes his head.
Naruto: With that said we shall now go and meet Konohomaru at the East Gate.
All of them begin to run to the East Gate while Kakashi stays behind. When they arrived at the East Gate all of the villagers and the shinobi that were sent to get them were there waiting for them.
Naruto: Shinobi of Konohagakure please return to the village and protect it while I am gone.
Shinobi: Yes, Lord Hokage.
Naruto: Villagers of Konoha I’m sure you already know why you are here so I won’t stay on the subject, so let us begin to our two day travel to Sunagakure.
With that said Naruto, Konohomaru, Sakura, Lee, Neji and the villagers of Konoha embarked on their long journey to Sunagakure.
