Pain tried to do things the silent way, Human Path controls, Preta Path defends, and Animal Path if any backup was needed.

Obviously that didn't work, so Pain went full offensive, and Deva & Asura Path was more than enough for that.

Wouldn't it be easier for Human Path to do what Edo Nagato did, temporarily kill him and revive them later? Unless Kabuto was talking about Edo Tensei other than Naraka Path.

It was cool to see Utakata put up a fight. The last episode he was in DID make it look like he was so easily captured.

Furthermore, I like how this filler wasn't a total sidetrack. It merely slowed down the progression a bit.
