I don't think Usopp are as much afraid of a little girl, as he was afraid of Don Flamingo and Don Flamingos excutives whom would be a match for even Sanji, Zoro and Luffy....

Nope Usopp is no weakling any-more, but as the straw-hats has grown in strenght, so has the enemies they face, and the gnomes are basically asking Usopp to walk directly into the vipers nest of incredible dangerous enemies.. a lot of them.. he was in over his head and he knew it.
