Just a thought..
I think that bringing Usopp's character as the liar and the sniper King in the manga was possible only because of his weapon.
If you imagine Usopp with a gun or pistol, then the comic character of Usopp, his actions, his diseases, his lies wouldn't make justice to his character. Because of his weapon he seems a typical village boy who turned into Pirate and surviving with his old but modified tricks that makes us laugh.

hes a dumbass, been rereading one piece. At the part where they have the fight, and Zoro and luffy get stuck into a building, while Sanji goes after Robin.

I liked Usopp but have began hating the stupid **** for
dragging out things way longer than they have to be with
many panels of him uselessly being a coward.

Not that he's a coward, just that he wastes far too many panels
than needed while being a coward.

Usopp character has not changed much. But His true fighting power has to revealed after two years of training. Those SH who behave like weak behave now also behave in same way.We need a arc when everyone is serious from the start not after took some beating then fight back with full force.Because that reveal their true abilities and also their character development.SH namely Nami,Usopp and Chopper after facing so much how can they still fear to fight someone or go to any island.

I've never seen anyone besides Luffy and Zorro take a beating like Usopp. He is nearly indestructible. While a super sniper with unusual weaponry, we must not forget that he is also a world-class tinkerer. The combination of abilities he previously shows combined with his new haki and new ammunition makes him a force to be reckoned with. The navy (and Mingo) have finally learned not to underestimate him, and we should likewise give credit where it is due. Usopp is one character that always plans ahead (for survival) and can surprise with his ingenuity. He may not be overpowered physically, but he is definitely a survivor of unparalleled ability.

Only character that Oda is literally developing in reverse. He has no idea what he wants to do with him.

I liked the brave new Usopp in the New World return. Even if he was the weakest he was still pretty badass and I appreciated that growth. Unfortunately he took a 45 degree nosedive south right after that... If only he could clean up his act and be not a wuss but still funny, that would be perfect.
His comedy only works with him being cowardly, the comedy wouldn't play if people didn't believe him. Usopp probably won't stop acting like that until he gets to Elbaf(if at all). And fyi I'm pretty sure you meant a 90 degree turn.

What do you mean the comedy wouldn't play? Reword that? Luffy, Zoro Sanji, Franky and to an extent Robin are all fearless warriors but they still have a great sense of humor and comic portrayal. Is it acceptable that we deal with wuss Usopp the whole manga just because it's 'easiest to make him funny'? It can be done. He can be both humorous AND brave at the same time. Tons of characters have done this.

And shit dude you're right haha... It was late at night when I typed that shit, no clue why I said 45.

The style of comedy written for Usopp wouldn't go over(wouldn't make sense) if he were brave. I'm not saying brave characters don't have funny moments in OP but Usopp's comedy is his fear, making a joke about being afraid and not being afraid and the readers knowing they weren't afraid would be weird. The humor is the irony of Usopp not being confident in himself despite being a strong fighter. If he gained the confidence and the fear went away then the jokes about him always being afraid and making up diseases wouldn't make sense. Plus Usopp's fear in battle are what help lead to his strategies and tactics.

So what you're saying is Usopp should stay a scaredy the entire series until like his last couple fights, just so that he can be humorous?
