I see plenty of people talk about how they dislike Usopp and they blame it on his cowardice. People that's mainly a comedic tool for the reader appreciate it for what it is and stop being so literal with the characters, Usopp has shown time and time again he's brave and willing to risk his life the sicknesses and stuff are just for comedy.
I figured I'd make a list(and feel free to add anything I forget) of all of Usopp's highlights that people should focus on rather than his joke personality.
. Stood up to the Black Cat Pirates alone.
. Defeated Jango
. Got the crew the Going Merry
. Maintained the Merry in sailing condition until Water 7
. Protected a village from Arlong's men
. Beat a Fishman pre time skip
. Provides Sanji with the time to free Luffy to beat Arlong
. In the original batch of SH wanted posters(technically, though it was via photobombing)
. Puts his life on the line and snipes the weather vein for Daddy Masterson
. Tanked a bat to the face and afterwards beat his opponents
. Figured out the weakness of Mr. 3
. Attacked Mr. 5 and his partner
. Stood up for Luffy's dream of being Pirate King
. Saved Sanji during Skypiea
. Was the reason Sanji could save Nami in Skypiea
. Only one thinking to bring home dials which are strong enough they hurt Luffy
. Stood up to Luffy for something he believed in, who else can say they stood up to Luffy, everyone eventually gives into his will but not Usopp not on this one.
. Not only did he stand up to him he went toe-to-toe with him.
. Invented Nami's weapon, any credit she gets Usopp should get residuals from.
. Improved her weapon with dials which leads to the power she has now
. Went against the WG to save Robin
. Shot down the WG flag without a second guess
. Turned down his dream of going to Elbaf to stay with the SH's
. Defeated a lot of the zombies on Thriller Bark
. Defeated Perona
. In Strong World Usopp shoots an attack into the sky which makes the lightning Luffy uses for his Thor attack.
. Usopp beat a Pacifista
. Helps save Zoro from Kizaru
. Beat some more Fishmen
. Beat Sugar
Not a lackluster resume by any means.
