Using paint for avatar/ help a new guy out

Well im new here and before making a formal "hello" thread i want an avatar, but its a paint file and google chrome won't let me upload it. So is it that you can't use a paint file or is it google chrome screwing up? Also, for some reason i tried to log in using Firefox about 5-6x, but it won't let me. As if I'm in Chrome it does (yes i made sure the username and password are the same as in chrome and i logged out in chrome) Please help out somebody new here. Thanks and hope u reply.

ur talking about the program paint, right?

im not sure why u cant log in with fire fox, but maybe, just maybe because u havnt enabled cookies

paint is not the file format, its the program!

for file format..

right click on the file, and select properties

there in the general tab, u will see the name of ur file, and its "file type", example, Naruto.jpg, or Naruto.bmp

check what file format ur picture is

If you don't know how to tell the difference between MS Paint and format then you probably shouldn't be browsing the internet yet. :|

open ur image in paint, then click save as, and select JPEG format, save it, and try uploading it again! - i think u may have a bmp format.

i was just gonna say thanks from suffering from my idiocy- now i have my "Finally part of the base!" forum since i now have an avatar.

lol dude. paint files, gimp files and photoshop files are all editing files where u create what ever u want. when u want to post them, turn them into jpg files or png. i would say png is better. the quality is higher than a png. as for ur internet issue, maybe u havent enabled cookies in ur settings or it could have been a tiny error. like....u had the caps key on!!!
but anyways, hope this helps!

nah its wasnt caps i typed the same for both browswers, but im pretty sure it was the cookies
