What other tactics could sakura use to defeat her ? Sakura is trained well in genjutsu, but not so much in putting people in it, just getting out of it. Plus Hinata's Byakugan would play a huge role in the fight were it to occur.

That doesn't mean that Hinata is a better Shinobi. Chouji could kill Neji. Does that make him a better shinobi? Not by a long shot.
Looking at things holistically Hinata's not as good as Sakura in Genjutsu, Intelligence, Strength, Speed, Stamina, or hand seals.
Where as the only area where Hinata has her beat is in taijutsu by half a tier.
They one share one quality with the same skill that being ninjutsu.
So according to the databook the better kunoichi is Sakura. By 4.5 tiers.

if sakuras talented in genjutsu that means she is able to spot things others wouldnt and has high analytical skills. she is no moron. she will figure out a strategy to counter getting caught in taijutsu
