I'd like to hear some opinions on this. Do you agree that the best course of action to irradiate ISIL insurgents in Syria would be to team up with Putin and Assad in order to iradicate them. They are obviouly the largest potentail threat to the world as of now so I think itd be best to focus our eforts on that. Then deal with Asad later in some form.

Personally, I think the U.S. should just stay out of Syria. Russia is already doing a good job of wiping out ISIS and ISIL have been losing ground for quite some time, which is why we see more instances of them committing suicidal terrorist attacks, which are a last hurrah for them.

We don't need to give ISIS more recruiting capability by bombing countries and causing more civilian casualties.

Russia and Iran and many European countries are already dealing with ISIS and ISIL .... The only thing US must do is let them destroy ISIS by themselves .... And then do something about Asad .

If we even decide to destroy ISIS, which we indirectly created, we should immediately back out and keep Assad in power. The lower orders within that region are religious radicals and as of now, keeping Assad in power is a must.

Well, if you ask me, the entire world should send military to these regions in the middle east and purge them from those maniacs once and for all. And then make sure that people in the "western world", south america, africa etc. have more life quality, solid jobs and everything else that keeps them away from slipping into extremist mindsets.

Deal with Assad? Syria would just end up like Libya without Kaddafi - as a 3rd world country.

The best course of action in the Middle-East has always been and continues to be non-interventionism combined with immigration restrictions – in other words, the approach of Japan.

The fact of the matter is that Islamic State in the Middle-East is not a significant much less existential threat to the US. And despite the schizophrenic paranoia of the Jewish community, it isn’t a threat to Israel either. The demographic trends in Europe, on the other hand, poses a legitimate threat to global stability but that's a story for another day.

What ISIS poses a real, indeed existential, threat to are the Shia of Syria (Iraq where the Shia are a majority is a different matter). The natural course of non-interventionism in the ME is that ISIS, which will probably emerge as the de-facto leader of the Sunni Arab world, will attempt to exterminate / forcibly convert the Shia, starting with the Shia in Syria.

Since Iran isn’t going to sit by and watch its Shia wiped out in Syria, whether via genocide or conversion to Sunnism makes no difference to them, the situation in the Middle-East will naturally evolve into possibly an all-out sectarian war, a war that has been in the making for over a thousand years, in fact.

And the only reasonable response the rest of the world can muster in such a scenario is to close its doors to the Middle-East and let its people sort out their own problems. The Middle-East is inherently a ticking time bomb anyway because its borders are mostly artificial – Sunni and Shia, Arab and Kurd and Persian will never be able to live together peacefully within the same borders.

If they don’t exterminate each other, the denouement of such a war will be that the continent with shatter along ethnic and religious lines – the Sunni and Shia, the Arabs and Kurds etc will all form their own ethno-religious states. And the regions groups all going their separate ways is the only long-lasting solution to that region's problems.

._____________________.

That's a strong and kinda far-fetched prediction (even) from you (it's more like smtg Aim would jump into), although I expect you to link some articles from right-wing experts. :p

And both you and I know that's not gonna happen partially 'coz today's politics seems to steer more towards emotions (see the Oxford Dictionary's choice for the word of the year 2016, "post truth", or the emergence of what the left calls populism)*, also, that would have been the reasonable course of action long ago, yet somehow there is/are always a party/some parties which just doesn't/don't want them problems be sorted out. At least, the way I see it but am no expert :pick:

*fun fact: Viktor Orban said like 3 yrs ago that the EU needs irrational responses as well to make the integration work...too bad everyone has forgotten that statement which is so ironic from his mouth.
