Ace was quite tall and muscular. He also sported rather childish freckles (inherited from his mother), and tended to make an incredulous facial expression by raising his left eyebrow. Interestingly, his facial features were almost akin to his biological father Gol D. Roger in his youth without his mustache. Ace's tattoos were among his most remarkable, trademark features. He had a tattoo on his back of the Whitebeard symbol — purple bones formed in a cross behind a purple skull with a white mustache — that he described as his pride and joy. Ace had another tattoo on his upper left bicep that spells "ASCE" vertically. The "S" crossed out is a tribute to Sabo as that's his jolly roger. He wore an open-front shirt until he received Whitebeard's tattoo - afterwards, he stopped wearing anything over his upper body except when on winter islands. He wore black boots, black knee-length shorts with an eyelet-studded orange belt, and a blue pouch belted around his left leg. He also wore a short second belt with a large red "A" on the silver buckle over his right hip, but left it unfastened and threaded the free end along the back of his shorts. A dagger in a green sheath hung at his left hip. On Ace's left arm, he wore a Log Pose and a red and white striped bracelet around his wrist, an orange elbow guard, and his "ASCE" tattoo. He wore a red beaded necklace and an orange hat with two blue smileys, one frowning and one smiling, and a string of red beads sitting above the rim. Two long orange side straps hung down sides of his hat and met at a large medallion of a bull's skull with orange tassels. Personality Ace was intelligent and polite. He liked to party as much as he could. Whenever he went to party, he would first go to the food and then deal with other things which he had to. There were two running gags about Ace. The first was his rather extreme narcolepsy. He tended to randomly fall asleep while eating and conversing, leaving strangers around him wondering if he had died. The second was that he did a "dine and dash" routine wherever he went. Ace had a tendency to never back down from a fight, saying that he would never run once facing an enemy. Because of this, some people believed that Ace had a death wish, but in truth he wanted to prevent people he cared for from getting hurt. While Ace emerged victorious over enemies he refused to run from, his stubbornness hurt him on a number of occasions. Ace was also easily provoked by and became violent towards anyone who insulted or harmed people close to him and almost got killed on one occasion.
Background Information History Ace was born to Gol D. Rogue and Gol D. Roger in Konohagakure. His parents, served as the advisors to the Hokage. One day, he decided to venture to Amegakure, to learn it's secrets. It was the land of endless rain which was also the constant battleground for countless number of wars. It was after he passed a test, that he was allowed to learn the Rain Element. He faced several wars, but all of them always resulted in a truce. He possessed the Fire specialty, and was a natural master of the Fire element, and it suited his hot-headedness and impulsiveness. He often travels to various far away lands, in the quest of learning new techniques. Soon, he defected from Konohagakure, and became a member of the Bloody Mist Village. There, his ally taught him a special and secret fighting style, which makes him quite deadly and brutal in close combat. After the invasion of the Bloody Mist by Kumogakure, the village was in a vulnerable position, losing some of it's precious members, although there were more casualties on the enemy side. After killing a Kumogakure shinobi, he ventured to the Foggy Mountains, and his mentor, The Regent betrayed the Mizukage, and his comrade Shiba, joined his side. Remembering their plan, he joined the Regent in his quest, as Shiba and him were ready to escape from the village as soon as the orders were given. Mangetsu, his fellow villager also betrayed the Mizukage and formed an uneasy alliance with the Raikage, leading several other shinobis to betray the village, with some still loyal to the Bloody Mist. The village also turned a battleground for several invasions, as shinobis from Sunagakure arrived there, lead by the infamous Akatsuki member, Kakuzu, as their shinobis started attacking Kumogakure and several shinobis from Iwagakure and Konohagakure arrived there too, and no one could say certainly, as to who would betray whom. It reminded him of the Second and Third Great Ninja Wars, as he remembered an Amegakure shinobi telling him how the village was a battleground for these two wars.
