I get that they would just revive after being killed, but if that's the case, why did Kurama care about Naruto's well-being in part one?

Because Kurama is a being of trickery and likes obstacles. He was planning to escape in other terms, probably unsealing rather than killing the human. And we have known now that Kurama always had a liking for naruto but was too proud to admit it.

OT: I think he will put them in sharingan genjutsu(like Madara did to Kyuubi) or something if he ever attemptes to do something against, not straight-out kill. Genjutsu and killing afterwards. Like they do to half-dead dogs after they ran over by cars
