I'm assuming it's going to happen based on the format of the series.

1st Arc [Academy Days] > Naruto Gaiden

It's most likely that they'll reanimate the Boruto Movie to fit the Manga's story. But I'm sure we'll have a one more arc before that, since it appears that they are skipping the Academy portion of the Gaiden.

My theory is that the Boruto Movie is occuring on three different timelines. When Momoshiki stopped time he created a warp in the space curvature that changed the past creating multiple endings. In the manga there's no jougan or Nue. In the movie there were two shadows that follow the kages to save Naruto, but not in the manga. That was Momoshiki's real plan. Its the Infinite Izanami were doomed to experience the Boruto movie over and over again!

That's what I'm thinking as well. There will probably an arc just like that, where they have teams and missions so we can see their relationship before the Chunin Exams start.

There aren't a lot of changes.

The preview for the first episode didn't really show the changes for Episode 1, so I assume there will be more add in content.

Plus the final preview looks completely filler. Sasuke saved Sakura, and then Sarada stepped in to show her mom that she can protect her too. But I assume they'll have a family battle now.
