After watching Star Wars episode 1 again, I noticed a few things that imply a long history between the Sith and Jedi. A jedi on the council exclaimed, "The Sith have been extinct for a millennia!" and also, Darth Maul exclaimed, "At last we will destroy the Jedi; at last we will have our revenge!" This leads me to believe the Jedi and the Sith have a long history of violence and dispute.
Obviously large scale wars never happened between them until the start of episode 1, but surely some very important battles must have occurred? Surely there was heroes and villians on both sides that warrant acknowledgement? Are there any books that Lucas has released that prequel episode 1? Surely a lot of effort has been put into the animated series, which details events occurring between episode 2 and 3, but are there any plans for the series' prequel? Leave your thoughts and thanks for reading!
