..about this old controversial debate about Final Valley-fight between Naruto and Sasuke at the end of first series. Many think that Naruto was inferior than Sasuke that's because Sasuke could won in that fight. However, manga clearly shows that Naruto's rasengan target was Sasuke's headband but Sasuke targeted Naruto's body.

That fight didnt have a clear winner.

They both had a chance to attack each other.
Sasuke's claim that Naruto wouldnt even be able to put a scratch on his forehead protector, made Naruto attacked the forehead protector. Naruto wanted to prove that he was able to and he won that part of the battle/bet or whatever. Because Naruto hit Sasuke's forehead, he was open to getting hit by Sasuke's Chidori, that hit Naruto's body and Sasuke won that part.

Imo, the fight didnt have a clear winner.

Sasuke had inside positioning, Naruto couldn't have gotten a body blow if he wanted. Also, his reach is too short, he'd need an extra several inches in reach to make an honest attempt at connecting. Just look at the scan.
