It's a short, very short chapter which was hurried. I haven't released anything in a while so I just wanted post sth ^_^ Enjoy!
“Why so suprised, Minato?” Jiraiya asked incredulously. “You'd be perfect!”
“I agree.” said Hiruzen, letting out a thin stream of smoke, his dimmed eyes settling on Minato and his face set in a blank expression.
“B-but young! Am I not too young?!” Minato asked desperately. His eyes widened with what seemed like fear.
“Wow, he keeps a straight face against thousands of enemies but he's almost pissing his pants when his lifelong dream's about to come true.” said Jiraiya, shaking his head. Hiruzen failed to stifle a chuckle.
“Sensei!” screamed Minato, anger mixing in with the anxious look on his face. “This is serious! I mean...I-”
“Minato, what is your final answer?” asked Hiruzen placidly, cutting Minato off. Smiles and laughter had faded away, and his face now wore the hardened expression befitting of a survivor and victor of two Great Shinobi World Wars.
Minato was silent. The Jounin's head was bowed low, giving him a pensive disposition. The Hokage stared at the blonde through dimmed eyes, the brows above them knitted, and smoke puffing at his wrinkled lips. Jiraiya looked as jovial and carefree as he always did; a large grin on his face, a warm look in his eyes, as he peered at Minato, waiting for his answer.
The blonde lifted his head, a completely different expression on his face. His countenance had lost the timidity and fretfulness of indecision. Right now, he was brimming with confidence, bursting with charisma and burning with determination. His eyes were ablaze, the two sapphire orbs bearing a strange but intense fire.
Hiruzen was surprised; clearly the complete transformation was not lost on the Third Hokage. His eyes, which were usually dimmed and heavy-looking owing to senescence, were widened in shock.
Jiraiya looked even more excited than usual; his brawny chest swelling with pride, his trademark grin somehow getting wider and his eyes glinting as he peered at his student.
“I shall accept the title of Hokage.” declared Minato resolutely, his voice calm and soothing yet clear and strong; the dauntless and assertive voice of the Fourth Hokage.
“Wonderful!” bellowed Hiruzen with a genial smile. “The future of Konoha is secured!”
“Well, that's settled.” said the white-haired Sannin. “We should-” he froze in mid-sentence, the words escaping him. Jiraiya's eye widened and sunk, his jaw dropped slightly, leaving his mouth ajar and his skin was becoming pallid. He looked completely horrorstruck.
“Sensei, what is the matter?” asked Minato through a hardened expression. A nervous bead of sweat sliding down his face.
“My clone...the Kiri ninja...” said Jiraiya, still looking alarmed. “How could this have happened?!” he thundered. A significant burst of chakra emanated from his imposing frame, setting his careless mane of hair in disarray. His horrid expression had turned to one of fury. “Minato, we have to go!”
“What happened?!” asked both the Yellow Flash and Hiruzen at the same time.
“Kirigakure has unleashed to power of both the Six Tails and the Three Tails.”
“Get away!” commanded Orochimaru in a loud and extremely hoarse voice. His order was directed at a few Konoha ninja who were in the path of a sweeping massive tail. The spiked enormity protuded from the backside of the Three Tailed Giant turtle, and was clearing a arc of destruction with its immensity.
The Konoha ninja leaped away, trying to distance themselves from the beast, but the tail was too long and too mighty. They were not going to make it in time. “Kuchiyose: Ranshomon!” cried Orochimaru, as his palm landed on the ground in front of the tail. A gargantuan gate of sturdy looking metalwork erupted in the path of the incoming tail, intercepting and negating the attack, though receiving serious damage.
The pale Sannin was panting, his body coated with grime. His face was moistened with the perspiration that had broken forth from his forehead. The iron plating that covered his lanky frame was cracked, small spots of blood visible upon its outer surface.
Manda sprang from beneath the earth, coiling about the neck of the Three Tailed beast in an instant. The Bijuu let out a pained cry, just as Orochimaru launched his Kusanagi at its head. Another of the giant tails hurriedly intercepted Orochimaru's blade, fastening itself about the legendary Kusanagi and stopping its charge.
“Damn it!” cursed Orochimaru. Suddenly, a thick fog swept in the Sannin's direction, the gas pouring out of the mouth of a distant and giant Six-Tailed Slug. “Acid mist? Not again!” groaned the Sannin.
“We'll take care of it, Orochimaru-sama!” roared one of the Konoha ninja. “Sarutobi clan shinobi, use your fire!”
Ten Konoha shinobi assembled before the approaching fog, their bodies begrimed and wounded, their hands weaving seals frantically. Each spewed a large amount of fire at the mist. The individual flames united to form a blazing conflagration. The inferno blew through the corrosive haze, and the incoming mist was dissipated.
The Three Tails freed itself from Manda's grip with a show of immense physical strength. Manda was thrown of its rounded and shelled frame, and the gigantic snake slithered into the ground. The Bijuu set its eyes on Orochimaru, black and white bubbles of chakra already combining near its mouth, which was ajar.
“The Tailed Beast Bomb?” thought Orochimaru, his jaw slightly dropped and his breathing heavy with panting. “Shit! Where the hell is Jiraiya?!”
“OODAMA RASENGAN!” roared Jiraiya as he sped towards the Three Tailed Giant Turtle. A massive Rasengan, many times his own size, occupying his right arm. In an instant, the massive sphere was plunged into the side of the Turtle's head, sending the beast flying and also interrupting the formation of the giant sphere at its mouth. As it soared through the sky, the incomplete sphere exploded on the turtle's face, causing the beast to let out a howl of pain before landing a good distance away, with a thunderous crash.
Jiraiya grinned, his long white hair free from the usual pony tail and dancing behind the Sannin. Atop his broad shoulders, the Two Great Sages of Myobokuzan were firmly rooted. The Sannin's eyes were lined with yellow pigment, his pupils horizontal instead of vertical, his nose large, bulbous and stricken with warts. The Toad Sage had entered the Honored Sage Mode.
“Sorry, I'm late Orochimaru!” yelled Jiraiya. Orochimaru was nowhere to be seen, as Manda had quickly emerged from beneath the earth, gulped his summoner and carried the pale Sannin to safety, away from whatever attack the Three Tails was about to activate. Manda, a good distance from Jiraiya, quickly sprang from underground and spewed Orochimaru, the Sannin now coated with saliva and still breathing heavily.
“Damn you, Jiraiya!” boomed Orochimaru. “Where have you been?!”
“Oh...I've been around.” replied Jiraiya with a nervous smile.
