A large hall with dirt coloured curved walls and ceiling, contained hundreds of shinobi, all Chunnin or Jounin level as they were all adorned with Iwagakure Chunnin flak jackets, who were in an uproar. Small sized windows were positioned on the walls though they did little to ventilate the room as beads of sweat were visible on most of the ninja present, though this may have had more to do with the terror that recent events struck in them than it had to do with poor ventilation
The Iwagakure forces had heard that a large number of their shinobi were killed at the country's borders and that amongst the corpses that littered the terrain, customised kunai known to be wielded by a certain Konoha ninja were also found. There was no doubt about it: the Yellow Flash had come to the Earth Country.
The murmurings continued as the Iwa ninjas discussed the looming threat amongst themselves. Even when the Sannin had crossed their borders they were not in this much of a stir. The Yellow Flash was a much different opponent; unlike the Sannin who actually fought their enemies in combat, the blonde Konoha jounin simply slaughtered any opposition in the blink of an eye, or so they had heard.
“I heard he killed more than a hundred shinobi at our border. All jounins.” said one Iwa shinobi, a lanky fellow who hid his thin frame behind the standard Iwa shinobi uniform.
“So, its true. The Yellow Flash has come to Konoha.” another spoke, his voice tremulous as a bead of sweat trickled down the side of his face.
The noise of the clamor carried to the corridor where a very short elderly shinobi slowly hovered towards the hall. It was the Tsuchikage, the man feared as Onoki of Both Scales.
A deafening silence fell upon all that were present when the bald elder sailed into the room. Despite his stature, the man was quite intimidating. His face had a number of wrinkles that gave him a serious expression while he had a pointy white beard which reached his belly, a white moustache with edges pointing down and stopping where his beard did, rounded eyes which were dimmed with age and a large red nose which bore a number of warts giving him a somewhat comic visage.
“Konoha's Yellow Flash infiltrated the Earth Country earlier today after he laid waste to the guards stationed at the eastern border.” the old man announced with a sombre look on his wrinkled face. He paused for a moment to let his words sink into the hearts and minds of his followers. “We currently have no idea where he is but various measures are being taken to track him down. In the meantime, I ask all of you to remain vigilant. He is no doubt a formidable foe but if you let fear have its way with you, then the battle is already lost. Share this with the our other comrades who are not here.” With that, the elder floated out of the room.
The rest of the day was uneventful for Iwagakure as well as the invading Konoha forces. The sun painted the sky a fiery reddish-orange before it sank beneath the horizon and paved the way for the moon take its position in the sky. By this time, the Konoha invaders had set up their camp amidst the hills and mountains that were strewn across the terrain. Traps were laid around the camp, a defensive barrier was erected by the Uzumaki amongst them, a shift for guard duty had been set up so everyone else could rest easy.
Its was now Minato's turn to stand guard along with Kushina. Things seemed to have been proceeding peacefully until the Yellow Flash sensed a multitde of ninja approaching when his hand touched the ground.
“Damn, there's a lot of them!” he whispered to Kushina before taking out a number of his customised kunai in both hands. “I'll go and hold them off, you wake everyone else up and tell them to get ready.”
Kushina nodded and headed towards the tents. The Yellow flash immediately teleported away to one of his kunai he had placed at the edge of Kushina's defensive barrier. From there, he could see the incoming opposition. The Konoha shinobi's face remained stoic, completely absent of fear or worry as the horde of Iwa shinobi drew closer and closer.
He observed most of them at the front as they weaved a number of hand seals then released a multitude of offensive techniques in an attempt to penetrate the Uzumaki's barrier all to no avail as it wasn't even scratched.
“Let me try.” a voice was heard from behind the troops and an short red nosed elder floated to the front. “ Let's see this barrier hold up against my Jinton.”
Minato was visibly disturbed as he watched the Tsuchikage bring his hands together and invoke a small glowing pyramid between them.
“Jinton: Genkai Hakuri no Jutsu!”
