For some reason, all of the computers in my house connected to the internet via Ethernet are not working. I get a message that says, "Ethernet" does not have a valid IP configuration. I've tried pretty much everything I've found by simple google search, so I'm wondering if anyone here could help me. I'm currently on my laptop which is connected by Wi-Fi. Help would be greatly appreciated. (I have Windows 8). U_U

Ethernet is basically a LAN connection.

with Ethernet, you're not connected to the INTERnet.
No you use cat5 Ethernet cables to connect to a modem/router to connect to the internet its used when you don't want to use wifi for latency issues or just prefer higher speeds. most desktops are hooked up via Ethernet

edit: also you don't need Ethernet connected to a pc to run lan, any computers connected to the same router can lan.

anyway op try this
if it doesn't work its probably on isp's end and youll have to call them.

Tried that earlier and got nothing, unfortunately.
