Ace's death was based on 2 arcs, Impel down arc and marineford arc, so Sabo just suddenly getting killed randomly without an arc based solely on him would be stupid.
Ace was introduced in the Alabasta arc and died in the marinford arc. Plenty of more time than Sabo , so you can't compare him dying to ace's death
Because of Ace death Luffy chose to take a 2 year break and train to get stronger so he can never lose the ones he loves again, so Ace death did have a significance
Sabo was presumed dead until just recently there is no point in killing him off so quickly after just bringing him back into the manga. Yes Sabo can die but the chances are highly unlikely
Sabo was just intro'd and is about to hold off the marines for Luffy. He could get arrested this arc like Ace got taken in at the end of Alabasta. Then we have a break arc focusing on the revs then Sabo execution arc, sort of like how the story of Ace played out. Not that I lean one way or another about his dying, idk if he'll live or die, but ignoring the possibility just because he is a cool character and we like him isn't logical.
I never said Ace's death didn't have a significance where's that coming from? But about that, Luffy needed to retrain after seeing an admiral, WB, a Yonkko, was clearly above any admiral 1v1 and we don't know yet whether Luffy has trained well enough to reach that point yet. Not to mention Garp. Luffy isn't at the peak of his power scale yet, so if anything Sabo's death(or even capture) would be another good point to do that even if it is a bit cliched.
As for the "so quickly" people are acting as if I said somewhere Sabo will die next chapter. Oda has a slow pacing, this one battle could take a few chapters and the rest of this arc looks like it will be around 15-20 chapters.
