Just naming some rappers who i thought needed more recognition. There are tons but these are just some i was starting to get into..
1. Charles Hamilton ( My #1 Sonic, where the f*ck you go?)

rest in no particular order
2. Mickey Factz (deserved a little more recognizion)
3. Big K.R.I.T (One of the hardest rappers I heard in 2011)
4. Asher Roth (underrated AF, maybe because he's white)
5. Diggy Simmons (nice, especially for his age at the time, still doesn't get as much recognition)
6. MF Doom (self explanatory)
7. Ab Soul( under the radar )
8. Hopsin ( people still underrate him, although hes super talented, more than you think he is)

Greenhouse Effect 2 was one of the best mixtapes to drop this year.

OT: Lil Snupe was pretty dope. Shame he's gone. He has a skit on Meek Millz DC3 mixtape that's pretty good. He's rapping about topics that Meek is bringing up on the spot and keeping it going. Pretty talented.

-Nipsey Hussle ain't that bad either.

-Uncle Murda if you like that in your face hardcore rap style

-Santana even though he's older and was hot back in the day. His last mixtape was awesome

-Game's Jesus Piece album was better than a lot of more popular mainstream albums

-Stori. She's cool when she raps although she usually raps with melody when she does. Her song 'Just another day' is dope

-Kid Ink

There are a lot of others

*Edit* Had to add Common. He's another mainstream guy but still underrated given his talent. Finding Forever was classic material for him and the best album that came out the year it dropped. I still listen to it. One of the last real hip-hop albums in like 8 years
