Hi, I'm djunk101. I've been a fan of Naruto since it first aired on Toonami. I stopped watching the anime at the beginning of the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, but I've read the entire manga, so I don't know anything about fillers I haven't read on a wiki as a reference point when reading fanfiction. I've been reading fanfiction for almost ten years now, but it has been almost exclusively Naruto and Naruto crossover fanfiction because I enjoy Naruto as a protagonist. I am not an author myself, mostly because I don't enjoy writing. I like Naruto x harem pairings and when Naruto is paired with characters like Tayuya, Tenten, and Yugito who have little to no back story which gives the author a lot of creative freedom. I don't enjoy upsetting people on the internet or getting into arguments over opinions as I am a firm believer of the phrase "to each their own" and I try to keep in mind the difference between fact and opinion at all times. I guess that's all there is to say about me that is relevant. I have a question about something, though that I'm unsure where to ask so I'll add it here. Does the "no advertising" rule apply if I want to tell people about a fanfic I really enjoy and want to give a link or tell people the name and author's name and website? I'm asking because I'm not sure if this is against the rule because I'm not advertising a website or anything related to myself (I don't know any writers personally and I'm not a writer myself), but I'm still technically advertising.

Would the fanfiction section be the appropriate place or is that just for posting stories themselves? I've never really spent too much time on forums outside of occasionally on gamefaqs, so I'm not very used to sections in forums.
