I don't think anyone can fully -know- the purpose of life.Lets be honest everyone, haven't you ever thought of this question in your mind? I mean haven't you ever scratched your head , even gone  about it? I have and I was wondering what you guys think about the whole purpose of our lives here on earth so comment away as you wish. :reborn:
Dawkins is horribly overrated.Dawkins is brilliant. As is the deceased Christopher Hitchens.
If it ain't broke don't fix it right? You should debate Dawkins.Dawkins is horribly overrated.
He basically got where he is by committing the largest arson against straw men in regards to evolution. He's basically repeated the same arguments since the 60s and is really kind of a stale fart hanging over the heads of scientists within evolution (he's actually more damaging to evolution these days than he is to critics of evolutionary theories).
Who would blame you YowYan, your right in what you said. Except the last part about their being almost nothing much to enjoy in this world. You know theirs still a good amount of people and I dare say our cute pets to keep this world joyful enough to not call it hell. I mean just think about every single person who you know in your life that deeply care, love you for who you are. Also since were in spring now, how about those days when you got to feel a nice, gentle breeze past by you? Or the warm sunshine hitting your face and the songs of birds in the sky and trees? Or perhaps just seeing people smiling and laughing, just having a good time with the beloved person they are with, when you walk around town or just the mall? All these thoughts just sum up with one in mind, your just left thinking "Wow, there is still some good left in the world after all." :flowersTo experience and grow and to leave a positive stamp behind in other people's lives, no matter how little. But mainly just to experience and enjoy life. Not that there's much to enjoy on this sh1tstain of a planet.
Wait until you have to start working fulltime. Wasting 40+ hours a week doing something you don't like. As for me, I hate where I am (carreer wise) so much, I have to focus on not turning suicidal. Overall, I'm an enjoyable person but the invisible shackles that this prison planet put on me, together with some personal issues (nothing too big) enjoying life got hard. Very hard. I'm just a paycheck slave.Who would blame you YowYan, your right in what you said. Except the last part about their being almost nothing much to enjoy in this world. Edit: I'm the type of person that loves nature and appreciates the littlest things like when I just got back from my night shift today (22:00 till 06:00) and I leave work, walking in the dark staring at the moon and listening to the early birds, feeding the ducks the bread I took from the bakery I work at..I appreciate the little things but the amount of time of my life that is robbed by the system is depressing and never-ending.
Hmm... I have heard from a good amount of people and now you, YowYan that once you start your career at fulltime could be quite the heavy load to carry. Plus the fact being tired as you mention too can make anyone lose their cool for abit. Also the worries about everything else, family matter wise or really some of those personal issues that your dealing with is stressful as you said. But I'm joyful to know your trying your best to be happy, to enjoy life the best way you can.Wait until you have to start working fulltime. Wasting 40+ hours a week doing something you don't like. I am with you on the fact that we have created monstrous systems for ourselves.
I do think that there is a considerable point to be made distinguishing the constrained and unconstrained view of humanity and Sowell makes the point that a lot of European nations are "nations of men" as opposed to "nations of law." The impact it has upon the views of government and how people interact with their government is profound and underlines the distinction between American and European governing concepts.
That said, I think it would be beneficial for you to look into figures like Thomas Sowell - another good one is the politics of hopelessness:
You must be registered for see links
I don't think it's as hopeless as you think it is.
But it is fair to say that we have erected institutions that are currently obstacles to the things that are not flawed about humans.
You mean like how cancer cells multiply and spread? LolWell ultimately the purpose of our lives is to procreate to make new generations which then spread around the world and procreate themselves, but that is a very primal/animal viewpoint. I think the purpose of our lives is to do whatever the **** we want after we procreated and just live out our lives happily.
The notion of a straw man is that it doesn't work beyond show.If it ain't broke don't fix it right?
I'd be glad to.You should debate Dawkins.
So what if his argument still makes sense to those who have studied the bible. Does that still make him a straw man, or is he simply a straw man because you say he is.The notion of a straw man is that it doesn't work beyond show.
I'd be glad to.
Unfortunately, the most that would come of that is me simply writing a critique of one of his books that has already been lambasted by atheists for being, basically, a straw man or subject to other logical fallacies.
His main argument against religion is the notion that many of the world's conflicts would not have happened without it. This gives a very simplistic outline of the cause of these conflicts and suggests that the scientific validity of something can come from whether or not lives are an expense of the differing belief.
Beyond this - we get other horrid arguments that attempt to illustrate god as being an improbably complex existence (which is in ignorance of some of his own work regarding how simple phenomena can generate complex results) that then compounds on the logical fallacy of infinite regression (how do I know that the Cole Word exists until I know what made the Cole Word).
There really isn't much to debate aside from some of his conclusions within his career in biology.
Hey that's bad for your health Dantee plus I hope you mean basketball, as in sports instead of what you said because otherwise you have me in this state :dead:Smoke weed and ball is life.
XD I meant basketball.Hey that's bad for your health Dantee plus I hope you mean basketball, as in sports instead of what you said because otherwise you have me in this state  that's not the whole point of life...
