In Cartoon's or any kind of show, you're meant to have emotional connections with the characters, that's what makes them good, without them it's just plain and boring xD

Like, Dislike, Love, Hate. They're all meant to be there, it's just that some people can take it to an extreme level.

If your talking about the whole fanboy fangirl issue, then thats a different topic, being a fanboy or a fangirl isnt a bad thing, until you replace the character with whatever you worshiped as God before you read/watched Naruto.

OT: I am still surprised why majority is not wanking the sage of 6 paths. (Cuz he iz da strongest and better than yer fave and we gotta love characters for being strronger than other'z favez so we could satisfy our inferiority complexez)
