Can they go for 4 cups in row in 2014 and win the world cup? I think so...

The funny thing is, did anyone predict this score in the Euro Contest thread?xd

funny thing that before like i think 2008 Spain pretty much s*cked at International Football xd
Wouldn't say they sucked, they never had a good chemistry with one another and many were ball hogs you still see that with some of them.

They have likely surpassed those sides. What they've won and how they've won it is probably all the evidence we need to prove this.
The fact that they did this without a proper striker will play a decisive role on them being the best national team.

I'd like to see that. Reckon Brazil will be able to go toe to toe with them though.

i must say that it is very awesome as Spain has VERY young team, as the only "old" players in the current Spain starting 11 are Cassillas and Xavi and they aren't REALLY that old, this team will be playing for a long time with these guys i believe

now back to Italy, they were very unlucky in this match, because Chiellini is very good defender and he got hurt, than Thiago Motta little bit after he came on the field he gets an injury, and as i sad, Buffon is very unlucky keeper, he had no chance against any of those goals

Possible, but will be rough. Silva/Fab can up their game, Inesita will still be around. Casillas can still go. The strikers will still be the problem for WC, Villas will be around 33 than and so Llroente/Pedro need to up their game.

No one predicted this as far as I know lol

Agree. Though I've seen some promise in the Portuguese side this Euro, and they might give us a surprise in the World Cup. Germany is always strong and they will return strong as well. Argentina is also a side to pay attention to, so we might get one of the best World Cups ever in 2014 if this progress keeps up.

Indeed. I still believe Xavi will be playing, but Puyol might have retired on this level by then, but Pique and Ramos showed a lot of promise together this Euro, and I think we won't see a too much of a different Spain side in the World Cup at all really.

Checked, and nobody predicted it :p

Brasil and Argentina both need more work. Argentina needs a little more help in midfield, and their defence is just a shame. Brasil isn't that bad with defence with Silva/Alves, but they can work on that, midfield is pretty good of theirs (being home will favour them). Germany will remain strong, Portugal may up their game and get at least one proper midfield like Lampard/Gerrard, or even Xavi/Inesita/Pirlo they can have a good run. Uruguay is on the rise. This run may influence Italy also, so expect them to come back stronger in two years time. Netherlands...no comment for now, only time will tell how fast they recover their form.

Indeed Xavi can go, but that time will tell. I hope we up our game defensively and striker wise, its killing us really, we survive this tournament, but WC maybe unfortunate going in like this and many national side will have observed our games like this. Pique/Ramos weren't bad, but just like the entire squad the same goes for these two and thats the Barca/Madrid rivalry it still can be the key to break this national team unfortunately and it depends if Del Bosque is around also. I hope Puyol stays, but this maybe his last season, or he may still play, but somewhere else (smaller league for fun). Puyol helped tense the Madrid/Barca rivalry last year when we won 5-0, so I hope either Xavi/Casillas manage to do this, all tho I see Casillas doing this if anything.

Hmm, well. I've got my money on Hulk, Neymar, Thiago Silva & Co to deliver the goods. Let's not forget, they'll have home advantage on their side. Germany should be strong but I see both Spain and Brazil above them. Portugal are likely to underachieve, again. Argentina can produce 11 great attacking players but they always seem to be lacking decent defenders and keepers. England are a joke. The spine of the Dutch team will be the wrong side of 30 when the tournament starts. I'm not expecting much from France. Italy are unpredictable, but they don't compare to the elite IMO. It'll be interesting :zonder:

Portugal will make a good performance in the WC, believe it, we are better then 2010 and the major temas should expect a great fight from Portugal specially spain since Portugal seems to be one of the teams taht could counter spain style of play this Euro. but Portugal most definatly won't underachieve

If Ronaldo for some odd reason is out of form and/or injured will effect them heavily tho.

I don't question your ability. It's a psychological thing which underachieving nations, such as Portugal, England and Holland, have consistently proven that they are unable to overcome.

Plus, your best player won't even be at the peak of his powers ;)

IF. that's the point, and i doubt ronaldo will be out of form or injured, unless one of Barça players decides to go a little rough on him

The Escorp Final FT Analysis

Spain 4 - 0 Italy

- A big congrats to Spain for a historic treble. Hats off to deliver your biggest performance on this Euro on the final. It's the highest score in a Euro final btw.

- It's really unexpected (before the match) to see such a landslide but Italy - once reduced to 10 - was unable to do anything in this match. Sad that they played with such a handicap during 30 minutes.

- I said before the match that Spain is favorite due to his chance to win this treble and that indeed proved a big difference motivationally.

- As I said before the start, if Spain will win this Euro, it will due to his [add superlative] midfield and that was it. Grandiose performance by Xavi, Iniesta, Silva, Fabregas and Co.

- Another thing, Spain's fatigue factor was a big interrogation and I really thought that Portugal will use that against them. Luck sided them big time then and I knew they were destined then. Forget tiredness and external factors. And I was right - they never seemed as fresh during this final.

- Italy tried in first half but the really goal disrupted their tactic completely. Then came the second goal at a crucial time. And then, the last blow was the injury of Motta and that was the final nail on their coffin IMO. The last 2 goals are just silver lining and more records stat for a record-making Spanish side.

- There was amazing stats where Italy had better possession of ball during half-time and that kinda showed that possession stat don't prove anything; efficiency make all the difference and Spain was notches above Italy. Oh there was a penalty not given to Spain but no one will remember that :p

- Casillas was brilliant on the mere chances Italy got and very authoritative during the set-pieces. I questioned the decision of lack of striker a lot but they were so efficient today that it didn't posed problem. Fabregas did a assist-cross for the first goal to Silva. Iniesta pass to Fabregas was superb - as superb as the pass of Xavi to Alba for 2nd goal.

- Alba was really good (whoever said he was a flop). I think he was perhaps the biggest revelation of this Euro. Really happy for Torres. Goal in 2 finals and an altruist assist to Mata. The rest of La Roja were all well-composed.

- Italy tried as I said but none of their players could do wonders. And I'm a bit sad to criticism them when they clearly couldn't keep hoping after Motta left them.

- Iniesta is the best player of this Euro IMO; followed by Pirlo and CR7. To my list previously posted, I'd like to add a player that I forgot (unfairly perhaps) who is Iker Casillas. Clearly one of the best Spainish in this Euro. I'm going to make a Top 20 soon though; we might discuss it then.

- In the end, I don't have much to say since Spain's victory is so clear-cut in this final. A historic treble by a strong side with a blessed midfield, it says it all.

Ronaldo along with the defence/GK are Portugal ATM. If they get more players, or we see heavy development from their players a chance.

Don't worry Ramos/Pepe are on Madrid, won't have to worry about Barca injuring him, as Ramos/Pepe tried this on Messi already. One being from Portugal too :p

These teams are not as heavily reliant on one player, unlike Portugal ;)
the only thing that misses to Portugal is a decent striker. that's all, our defense was one of the best this euro, our midfield is also great, so we just need a decent striker that's all.

come on man, Pepe already said he was sorry and it wasn't on purpose:rolleyes: it's just his style of play

Yep, I was very impressed with Coentrao & Pepe in particular. Helder Postiga is just not good enough IMO, neither is Almeida. Regardless, I don't think you can compete with the absolute elite in 2014. As I already said, I think it is more down to psychological barriers which the team is unable to bypass.
