Finally! Europe elite club competition is back after months of eager anticipation by football fans and critics, tomorrow kicks of with probably the most interesting and mouth watering clashes of all the ties which see giants city take on fc barcelona and both are going into this game on a good high after manchester city and barcelona both saw of chelsea and rayo vallecano respectively in an impressive display of footballing tactics and player skills. Now the real test await the two teams to see who is going to come out on top at the end of the day, many have predicted this to be a high-scoring tie with many goals as that is where the two teams strengths lie in as their defenses aren't necessary anything excellent like that of Chelsea or even Arsenal. Aguero is set to miss the match but is expected to be back for the return leg while neymar who twisted his ankle in barcelona cup tie game against getafe some weeks ago is fit, but is doubtful to start though having such player on the bench with his level of skill is always good. Physically Manchester city are the more deadly side as they are stronger, and have an advantage in set pieces against barca due to their lack of height in the team, so barcelona would have to play their own style and try to do what the normally do which is dominate possession and stop city from getting a hold of the ball and stopping them from those dangerous counters. Negredo should start alongside dzeko while messi, alexis and pedro would be the three main forwards, the only headache for martino is to select who to play along side busquets being it xavi and iniesta or fabregas and iniesta or xavi and iniesta, both have been playing good and have been impressive this season. While city would be toure the powerhouse, possibly fernadinho although he is still a doubt, and milner or navas. Another crucial aspect to this tie would fall on the full backs and how fast they can regain the ball and how high the go up the pitch and the chances they create and what not. Whatever the case may be the match promises to be an exciting and thrilling encounter and one that should not be missedxd.

While in the other match of the day which is overshadowed by the main blockbuster match of city vs barca, is paris saint Germain vs greek side Olympiacos, well the clear favorites for this are psg but as we know this is the champions league and no such thing as a small team, so an upset wont be outside of the cards, i for one am eager to see you January acquisition yohan cabaye performance and how he adapts to the pace of europes elite competition.

What are you guys looking forward to in the round of 16s? Share your idea and opinions here!

Agreed. It is the blockbuster clash in the ro of 16 alongside arsenal-bayern munich, i hope the game leaves up to the expectations and is interesting.

I say Bayern will win arsenal over as they have a more developed squad IMO.
But still, it will be tight

To be fair to arsenal they aren't the same side they are when they faced bayern last time and yet they were able to win bayern at their home which is a feat, sadly the damage had already be done and bayern too have improved so lets see how it goes, I am not writing off arsenal.

Man city - Barcelona will be quite tight but I am pretty sure that barcelona will go further. They simply have a better team with Messi, Neymar, Iniesta etc. and also Man city dont have fernandinho and aguero which are key players...I kinda wish for arsenal to beat bayern munchen but it will be hard...another match I am interested in and which will be tight is AC Milan vs atletico madrid tbh. In the rest of the games though, the winners are obvious.

I do agree, Bayern got lucky last time as they were the away team.

All in all, we have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

As a barcelona fan i am scared for barcelona as this has been our real challenge in the champions league ever since that demoralizing defeat to bayern so i hope we prove to the world and other teams that we are back and we are a force to be reckoned with also i cant believe i forgot milan and atletico tie , which would be very interesting although i see atletico coming out on top, but milan should be able to pick up a point at-least at the sansiro and hope they get something good away at calderon.

In my opinion luck played little to no importance as bayern munich were simply the better side between the two to be honest, arsenal already were knocked out when they conceded three away goals to a team such as bayern, though nonetheless, credit to them for winning at the allianz arena.

City we have to make due with what they have and with their large squad filled with quality players that shouldn't be a problem, they have to get something at the ethiad as camp nou isn't exactly a place where one can easily win.

Galatasaray vs chelsea is one of the matches you should watch, because real madrid will surely defeat schalke, but Galatasaray vs chelsea are split open.

We have neymar, he was brought for the main reason of shedding barcelona dependency on messi and so far for someone whose making his debut in the European football he is doing good and have been the main man along side pedro and alexis when messi was injured this season. Manchester city has negredo who is a top quality center-forward and has netted 18-20 goals already this season not sure on the exact figures which is an impressive feat so like i said city have the quality and squad depth to find a suitable solution to aguero absence.
