Itachi face indeed, alright lets get this show on the road, what do you know about the Sharingan? You mentioned you'd already awakened the one tomoe, what do you recall from that training? Other than presumably a savage beating.

Well, I know a lot about the Sharingan as my third favorite character of the series is Itachi. First being Nagato and second being Tobirama. I am a fan of all the doujutsu in general.

The sharingan has a multitude of abilities. Visual genjutsu, the ability to see chakra pools inside of others, it grants the user the ability to track well beyond what they would be capable of without a sharingan, and as the tomoe goes, from 1-3, it gets increasingly better. I am on a phone and will not look up the specific statistics at this time but in the thread about sharingan it lists what amount of tracking you can do per tomoe. You can also mimic certain things of the opponent such as movement and handseals near perfectly, if not perfectly. Kakashi was a prime example of this as well as Sasuke being able to use Naruto’s hand mid battle to perform the necessary seals for a jutsu. Which was quite disrespectful but hype, nonetheless. The mimicking capabilities go as far as Sasuke mimicking handwriting from another student and passing his exam, even though he could not see what the other student was writing, able to effortlessly form the words based on how perfectly his hand mimicked the other student’s hand. That’s pretty legitimate.

Again, these all get better with the unlocking of more tomoe. My goal, of course, is the Mangekyo sharingan. That, I am not sure if it increase such things but they unlock a whole plethora of extra abilities which I won’t get into as we are focused on the base sharingan at this time.

As far as my last training, I do not remember anything but the sensei beating my arse and teaching me about 1 tomoe, it’s tracking and the little things I can do with it and all of that but being that I generally know of the sharingan, I reckon I don’t need to know how that training went since I can tell you what 1-3 tomoe do specifically based on the threads that are put up.

I typed all of this on a phone so hopefully this suffices.

Okay lets start with the part you focused on most heavily, a power of the sharingan as you mention is mimicry, but the way it achieves that is not completely clear for some people, in the anime they show this ability as seeing things happening in slow motion, this of course isn't what actually happens but the effect is meant to highlight the increased reactions.

The Sharingans ability to mimic comes from the high clarity offered by the "eye of insight" this ability allows things like lip reading, mimicking jutsu by reading the handseals and as you mentioned copying handwriting by sight alone, this is achieved by reading the muscle movements of the target, using those tiny movements to predict the greater action that will be taking place, for example if you see someone stiffen their stance, pivot their hips and draw their shoulder back, you would correctly be able to assume they're about to pull back and fire a punch off at you. This applies to real life, in combat sports they refer to it as telegraphing strikes, to an Uchiha things are telegraphed that normally wouldn't be essentially.

With that said, when it comes to mimicking jutsu, what do you think are some restrictions on that ability? How would an Uchiha mimic an opponents ninjutsu and in which situations would that fail?

All understood, as that is the way I understood it entirely.

Touching up on what you said about mimicry limits, it’s very simple and logical as there were numerous examples in the show of this. You obviously cannot mimic an element you do not inherently have or have no business using. If I do not have lava release, I cannot mimic a lava technique. Also, I cannot mimic anything over whatever speed I can acquire. If I can move at the speed of Sage mode and someone is performing at the speed of the 7th gate, although trackable, it would not be feasible for me to physically perform at that rate. I can be preemptive with my defenses but I wouldn’t be able to Telegraph my moves at their rate of speed.

Those are basically the mimicking restrictions right there. However if we are moving at the same speed and the opponent uses a fireball jutsu, I am easily able to perfectly mimic and spit out the same technique in response.

Correct, mostly, a few notes to add. You can't copy something if you lack the same speciality as the opponent, for example a lightning specialist performing a technique that normally requires several seals, with only a single seal, can't me mimicked because you lack the same proficiency. Also for mimicking techniques they must have handseals, techniques with no seals can't be mimicked.

( Doujutsu: Kopī no Jutsu ) - Eye Technique: Copy Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: E - Forbidden
Range: N/A
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: N/A
Description: After gaining the 3 Tomoe Sharingan, the user gains the ability to copy the technique the enemy is using and use it as his own in the same timeframe. The user will first need to witness the technique completely to memorize all aspects of it, including the opponents chakra flow and focus upon using it as well as the hand seals. A limitation of the technique is the inability to mimic and copy KG Techniques, Advanced Elements or Hidden Abilities unless the user also has these same abilities.
Note: User needs to have at least the 3 Tomoe active.
Note: Can only be done 2 times per opponent on techniques that have hand seals.
Note: Copied technique can only be used in the event recorded in and the event following this. In the case of Battle Arena fights, this refers to one fight and the fight following it.
Note: User needs to be capable of performing the technique himself, meaning he needs to have the correct chakra natures, rank, abilities, etc to use the technique. This is also valid for the various Specialties, where the user might be unable to copy a technique with only one handseal unless he has the same specialty as the enemy.
Note: Copying techniques can be done in the same timeframe as the user's techniques.

Next I'd like you to tell me about the second "eye" of the Sharingan, known as the "eye of hypnotism". Tell me everything you know about this ability, one that made the Uchiha so feared in the canon series.

So, this is basically what we just went over put into a technique. Unless that is what you meant to do, then there is no need to explain.

Eye of hypnotism, I'm assuming, is the genjutsu capability of the eyes. Upon eye contact, you can put the opponent into a visual genjutsu ranging from something simple, to a tsukuyomi. Word has it, it is also harder to break a visual genjutsu than a normal one, or at least different methods are needed for it to be broken. Simple as that, nothing major. This doubles for mangakyo and eternal mangekyo.

That was indeed what I intended to do, that's why I posted it. The eye of hypnotism is indeed the Uchiha's ability to cast illusions using the Sharingan, however there is more to it than simply casting genjutsu, they have effects and powers not afforded to simple genjutsu users. This is one of the best examples of that.

( Bōshi Magen: Kyouten Chiten ) - Demonic Eye Illusion: Heaven And Earth Change
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C-S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: N/A (equal to the cost of the countered technique)
Damage Points: N/A (equal to the power of the countered technique)
Description: This is a illusion counter where, through the use of their sharingan, a Uchiha can take control over an enemy's Genjutsu and reverse it back into the opponent by taking control of it and releasing oneself at the same time. With 1 Tomoe, it can affect C-Rank and below illusions. With 2 Tomoe, it can affect B-Rank and below illusions. With a 3 Tomoe, it can affect A-Rank and below illusions. With MS, it can affect S-Rank and below illusions and EMS can affect any rank Genjutsu. Note: Can only be used once every two turns.
Note: Does not require eye contact and must be able to cast ( I.e., cannot reverse a Sound Genjutsu without Sound Ninjutsu.

Now, since we're on to the illusion portion of training I may as well use that to teach you the sharingan genjutsu, we'll start with the one I just posted, explain to me some potential usages for this along with strengths and weaknesses you see, also ask any questions you have.

Ah, I understand. I knew that but didn't think it was worth mentioning being that that is one of the more well known things about the sharingan. But understood.

What tomoe am I at?

Well, this is quite the simple jutsu, but useful. All going back to the explanation of what tomoe and the advancement of the sharingan allows, depending on what you have unlocked and what is needed, you can reverse a certain rank of genjutsu back at the user, pinning them in their own illusion. This is what Itachi did to Kurenai.

You must be registered for see images

Depending on what levels of sharingan you have unlocked determines the ranks of genjutsu you can reverse. This does not require eye contact so that makes it very viable especially for someone with a genjutsu infinity that loves using that art. Simple and handy. Usable every two turns. But no real restrictions. Love it.

You're currently at 1T but by the time we finish that'll be 3T, so I'm just explaining everything as I would for someone with a 3T. Also correct this is an incredibly underused ability, but with it you can simultaneously reverse a genjutsu on an opponent and free yourself from it. Meaning you essentially have the ability to dictate timeframe instead of responding from the back foot. Generally using time to break a genjutsu without that break being an attack leaves you on the back foot, but not with this.

Alright lets get the boring stuff outta the way and cover these standard genjutsu.

( Doujutsu: Chouetsu no Shunmin ) – Eye Technique: Transcend to Deep Slumber technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will use their Sharingan to cast an illusion upon the opponent by looking them into their eyes; this illusion makes the enemy fall asleep but makes them think they are still watching the opponent without realizing they have fallen asleep.
Note: Requires direct eye contact with 2 Tomoe Sharingan and up.

( Doujutsu: Shiranui ) - Eye Technique: Phosphorescent light
Type: Offensive/Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user will cast an illusion to make the opponent see six copies of the user that detonate simultaneously harming the target. The explosions are explosive kunai to deal damage whilst the enemy is distracted in the genjutsu.
Note: Requires 2 Tomoe sharingan and up.

( Bōshi Magen: Nenshou Kamihada ) Demonic Eye Illusion: Burning Paper Body
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: The user casts a Genjutsu that makes the opponent believe that their body is made of paper and is burning, reducing their dexterity of movement, stopping them from performing handseals.
Note: Requires three tomoe Sharingan and eye contact

Same as before, break them down for me and ask any questions you may have. You've probably noticed I skipped the generic C-S rank illusion tech if you know the tech list, that's intentional and we'll cover it last.

1: Pretty simple, through eye contact you project what appears to be an ongoing battle for the opponent, however the genjutsu puts them to sleep in reality, unbeknownst to them. Rather handy if you can pull it off. Seems like a genjutsu that actually can't quite get picked up on easily because it seems to come off as having a smooth transition.

2: A basic genjutsu that allows you to mimic exploding clones. However there are no clones and you actually create the explosion yourself.

3: Just a jutsu that alters how the opponent makes handseals. The rest is pretty irrelevant. I would probably never use this since there are personally better ways for me to achieve such a thing.

The first one seems like the best. Smooth, short and simple. No drawback and no limit usage or turn usage.

Yeah pretty much, you'll see why I'm getting these ones out of the way first pretty soon.

( Bōshi Genjutsu: Koukon Karasu ) – Illusionary Eye Technique: Dusk Crow
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: This is an advanced Sharingan technique the user traps the enemy in an illusion without any eye contact, similar to Ephermal. The Genjutsu traps the victim in a torrent of crows, leaving them at the users mercy.

( Bōshi Magen: Ketataumo ) Demonic Eye Illusion: Piercing Feathers
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: A weaker version of Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes, it makes the opponent believe that numerous black feathers have pierced their body and trapped them, causing them pain and immobility.
Note: Requires two tomoe Sharingan and eye contact to use

( Bōshi Genjutsu: Utakata ) - Illusion Eye Technique: Ephemeral
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range:Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: An illusion where the user simply points at the target and if the target glances at the pointing hand, they fall into a genjutsu where they first see birds that soon after turn into kunai that attack them. They are further damaged by being tortured by images of their friends insulting them.
Note: Requires 3 Tomoe Sharingan.

Next three, do the same as last time.

No problem. However you want to slice it Rexi, I'm cool with.

1: Cosmetically dope technique. Another gen that requires no contact which is always great given that trying to make "eye contact" in this RP is pretty much impossible since you can metagame it or just have the opponent say "I never looked into your eyes!"... Anyway, no eye contact but you placethe opponent in a genjutsu that has crows swarm them. This can be good for a get away, distraction for an attack or prep time. No eye contact is always a plus. No limit or cooldown which again, I love.

2: An immobilizing technique that requires eye contact. However I have a question: do they feel pain in this one? Or is feeling the actually pain limited to MS/tsukuyomi? If it actually causes pain or at least has the user believe they are in pain, it might be useful. Not a fan of the eye contact, of course.

3: You point a finger where they get placed under a genjutsu full of kunai transforming birds and bad friends.
