Uchiha survivors

So this thought came to me while I was watching Naruto. Wouldn't there be more survivors of the Uchiha clan massacre as some would be out on missions and stuff like that?? What do you guys think?

This. It was arranged for them to die, so they were put in those circumstances. Aso, if they were anning a coup, it would be better to prepare than go out on missions.

im assuming all involved in the coup were killed, I could picture sasuke not being the only child itachi spared though, or that an uchiha left konoha and wanders other countries. either way if sasuke dies for wutever reason and the story continues i could picture a random uchiha saving the day and restore the uchiha properly.

It was never stated everyone was in the clan settlement when the massacre took place so it could reasonable to say that the survivors (or the ones on mission,tasks,etc.) were hunted down and eliminated. If not that, it could possible that itachi being in the anbu black ops would mean he probably knew everyone and would know who was off work on certain days. Using this data, itachi could create a date where everyone in the clan was present and off work and thus proceeded with the massacre.
