Madara didn't manipulate or brainwash him at all. Obito took Madara's idea and decided to make it a reality on his own, he also cut Madara out completely.
One can say, in a sense, Obito's perspective of the world has some truth to it. People are allowed to trust and believe in what they see fit, but the overall perspective of the majority if asked, wouldn't be far from what Obito thinks.
The majority of the world and it's people are rotten.
Selfishness and greed have ruled the heart of mankind for centuries.
Throughout history, wars that claimed countless lives, like Rin, Itama, Izuna and Itachi, were initiated out of one nation's will to act out of self interest or desperation caused by another nation's actions for the same reason.
It is, in all truth, a vicious cycle.
Obito's mentality is that mankind will always be greedy and selfish and innocent people will keep paying the ultimate price for the interests of a country's Top Dogs and leaders.
Obito- "Kakashi, you know as well as I do, that this world produces nothing but trash. You and I are fine examples of that."
Let me be completely honest with you guys. As much as I disagree with Obito that humanity has no hope for change or redemption, there is truth to his words.
The world that he has lived in is proof of that..........
So, although his methods are highly extreme and completely wrong, he is genuinely trying to free the world from this vicious cycle of hatred and meaningless death.
