In the latest chapter, Madara states that he has four brothers, or at least "had" four brothers. I don't think he didn't mention Izuna for some half-ass reason, but that Izuna was never his "brother" to begin with. Let me explain.

Madara is growing up in a time of constant war and death. The recent passing of his brothers have left him emotionally scarred but he's very tough and isn't showing it. That's why he keeps on going to meet Hashirama! They're both very similar and alone in their goals (peace).

After the two grow up and go their separate ways, Madara meets a lonely, younger Izuna whom he immediately bonds with. The two begin to become close friends and then, practically brothers. Madara watches over Izuna super close to ensure that he's safe. The two become rivals and "brothers" that take over Uchiha.

When he dies, this greatly screws up Madara who becomes delirious with vengeance. Like another poster said, maybe Hashirama accidentally killed Izuna?

Tell me what you think! *_*

No, I'm sure that when Kishimoto repeatedly said brother, he meant blood-bother. Otherwise, explain Madara's EMS.

What I'm thinking is that he wasn't born yet, but I'll just have to wait for the manga to explain.

Bad theory is bad, you can't obtain EMS eyes from a non sibling. They're brothers.

We still don't even know if EMS u have to be related to recieve

Before he fought Sasuke, Itachi said something like after Madara got EMS from Izuna's eyes, many other tried from their close family members and just other people in the clan's eyes to get EMS...but none worked. Then he made a big deal out of Sasuke (his blood brother) being his "spare" like Izuna was for Madara. I doubt Madara and Izuna's past and sharingan evolution would have been explained and paralleled with Sasuke and Itachi if they weren't blood brothers.

I don't think your theory is impossible...just very unlikely.

Just because Madara said "had" doesn't mean all of them are dead. It just means he had 4 now not as many.

Hmmmmm..... I look at it this way. You can't use an eye you've never had implanted in you right? So how could Itachi program Shisui's eye. I think that Sasuke has one of both Itachi's and Shisui's eyes, that's why normal Uchihas could not achieve EMS by simply switching eyes, they need 2 different ones. That would explain for me why we never saw Itachi use his ms with both eyes open and why he could keep his sharing an activated almost constantly. Might also explain why Itachi's genjutsu was so good, Shisui was a feared genjutsu user and as we've seen with danzo Shisui's eye was capable of controlling people without making eye contact. Ever notice when Itachi did the fade into the crows he almost phases like obito. Madara could have had an eye from one of his older brothers...and finally izuna's eyes activated the ems. In either case for my scenario, madara's eyes came from multiple sources, and izuna could have been blood or like a brother either way Madara would have had at least one blood brother eye implant.... Hope that makes sense.

Madara hasn't seen any of his 4 brothers for some time now that means that he assumes that they might be dead; including Izuna.

He'll find out that Izuna is the only one that made it out alive = being the only familiy member he has left (we haven't heard anything about Madara parents yet) thus Izuna being that important to him.

Izuna gets killed by a/the Senju and that is where Madaras change comes in.
