I disagree. The tablet was changed without their knowledge. Considering very few Uchiha could read the tablet to begin with how would the clan as a whole know about this?

Don't confuse being smart with having convenient tools. The Uchiha have convenient battle tool called Sharingan that allows them to see the battlefield with the a great level of details. This has nothing to do with being smart. In fact, some people still ignore that the Sharingan can record scenes. It is not like the uchiha brain is different from normal brain.

Have you guys ever seen a Sharinganless Uchiha be smart. Obito was just a weakling until he unlock the Sharingan. As long as an uchiha does not have Sharingan, he is a regular shinobi.
