Uchiha Fugaku is a fascinating SOB
•Why was he not Edo Tensied (or his wife)?
•why were he and his wife absent for Kurama's attack on Konoha?
•He was the HEAD of the Uchiha clan; yet we never saw if he even had a sharingan. If I remember correctly, he only displayed a fireball jutsu, but come on! This guy was in charge of the likes of Itachi, Shisui, and Itachi. He had to be a badass.
•He planned the coup detat that resulted in his entire clan's and ultimately his oldest son's death and the defection of Sasuke.
So many interesting topics surround this character that was not discussed very much. Anyway, the next part is some of my wildest speculations yet (bordering Fanfiction perhaps).
What I think (or hope, or would love to see) happened is that Fugaku never died that day of the massacre; he only fooled everyone (especially Itachi) with powerful genjutsu and corpse transformation techniques in order to fake his death (Likely during the moments when Itachi was speaking with them before he attacked). Afterward he went into hiding, being the descendant (son/grandson) of Madara (remember he is head of clan, it makes sense), he began to work for him in secret. (Also remember all madara's talk about "Even my son" when fighting sasuke last chapter, and hashirama saying he reminds him of Izuna, sounds like a family resemblance).
I just think its very odd that Fugaku would not have been reanimated. Being the head of the Uchiha, and also having Itachi and Sasuke as variables on the battlefield (psychological warfare), he would seem a desireable 'card' for Kabuto. His not being there would make sense if he was still alive.
Maybe he will emerge from the shadows. Maybe there is more to his past or his involvement with Madara. Hell, maybe he even became Zetsu after enduring failed experiments with Madara. Who knows.
Anyway, thanks for reading if you did. Does anyone else have any general thoughts on the character?
