why don't uchiha siblings just trade eyes with each other so they will both have ems, like with madara and izuna why didn't they just swap instead of having izuna go blind? Is there a reason they can't

Because Madara went blind from overuse of his eye's thats why he took Izuna's eye's in the 1st place so Madara's eye's were useless.

Yes but Madara's MS had completly lost its light in other words Madara was completly blind and putting those eye's in Izuna would have the same result as having no eye's. Itachi wasn't fully blind and thats why Sasuke can use them now.

They never give a reason as to whether they can or can't, but I can only imagine that having your eyes ripped from your head probably does not leave you in the best physical health...

Ya but I thought they took their eyes out anyway to put the new eyes in until trueblue said they put them over their own eyes, but if thats the case what about kakashis eye I thought he had to remove his eye and put obitos whole eye in because his was damaged.:shrug:

Maybe they carve out a section of the brain to push the original eyes farther back. Or just mash em into there so the old eyes flatten and mush up in the back and eventually get absorbed by the body.

im not quite sure how it works but im pretty sure you need to have both pairs
