It do not change my point. If Itachi is on Uchiha's side he would end again as doube spy, but this time it would be vice versa, Itachi would leaking information and gave them to Uchihas. Scenario would nearly be the same.

Shishui would be alive also if itachi never chose up on the clan but itachi would only have three tomoe and obito and shishui would be only two known mangekyo wielders. Obitos help would be enlisted for konoha massacre as opposed to his clans slaughter.

Ppl adding folk tht were clearly no where near konoha like sannin need to stop. Although I agree wen it was known tht konoha was taken over(successful uchiha coup would happen) they'd flock back n would start a siege which could culminate to said sannin being k'd since obito had akatsuki mercs to use as secret buffer.

Itachi would have died along with the rest of his clan. On the plus side he would probably have taken danzou down with him at the least.

If it was just like a war and they fought face to face, the Uchiha would lose. I don't think it would be an easy win though, th elders were worried about fighting them.

However if Itachi wasn't feeding the village information, and instead did the opposite and fed it to the Uchiha, I think they might have had a chance.
