I think yo uhave it backward. The Uchiha were killing each other to possess stronger eyes and the almighty Izanami. I hardly call that united. It was Madara and Izuna who got them in line.

OT: I don't think any clan was better than the other. It all came down to their leaders. Hashirama just proved to be a better one then Madara. As far as the which is best, I pick the Senju only because of the younger brother's peaceful ideals. In terms of feats they are each others opposites so it's more like 2 sides of the same coin.

A few things I have to point out. First, Senjutsu is not a power of the Younger Son's lineage. It was never stated and a host off none Senju and even an Uchiha using it seems to imply differently. The only clan that has a tie to it is Juugo's. Second, this thread was pointless as we don't know how strong they were. We can only assume the were equal since the attained the powers of separate halves of the Juubi and were portrayed as Yin and Yang, which is always balanced and equal.

I already addressed the "before" Hashirama thing. That's why the Sage picked the Senju lineage for the successors, they're superior.

He picked the younger son because of his ideals, not power.

That says during the fuedal era. You just took the words out of context. We know that the Senju were not always stronger as the Uchiha surpassed them in modern day. That's why Kakashi called the Uchiha Konoha's strongest clan. The Senju were only ever that strong because they had Hashirama and Tobirama on their side.
