Based on the family tree of the Sage of Six Paths,
- the Uchiha, as descendants of the Older Son, are inclined to Yang; and
- the Senju, as descendants of the Younger Son, are inclined to Yin.
Based on Sasuke x Hinata: Yin and Yang, the left side may be associated to Yang and right side may be associated to Yin.
However, Madara's eyes currently has Sharingan on right side and Rinnegan on left side.
The same is true in the depiction of Nagato's Rinnegan (left side of the face) and Itachi's Sharingan (right side of the face).
There is a Yang in Yin, a Yin in Yang
The Uchiha may be Yang but Sharingan may be their Yin;
the Senju, and perhaps distant relative Uzumaki, may be Yin but Wood and Rinnegan may be their Yang.
Although irrelevant, the position is consistent nonetheless when Mr. Kishimoto was asked what type of eye technique an Uchiha-Hyuga offspring would have.
That is, a Sharingan on right and a Byakugan on left.
Again, the Uchiha may be Yang but Sharingan may be their Yin (dark);
the Hyuga may be Yin but Byakugan may be their Yang (light).
Overall, it may be noted that these positions may happen when two different eye technqiues are combined.
This should not be confused with the emphasis of Hinata's right eye (Yin) and Sasuke's left eye (Yang), as both have pure Byakugan and Sharingan respectively.
Another example worth noting is the Hyuga Clan.
Within the Clan, the Main house is Yang while the Branch house is Yin.
This may be seen on the cover of manga ch 078, wherein Hinata is Yang and Neji is Yin;
Similarly, in chapter 102, during Neji's flashback on Hinata's 3rd birthday showed Hiashi and Hinata wearing lighter shade of clothing
surrounded by other Hyuuga in darker tones.
But within the Main House is Hinata, deficient (Yin) in abilities; and within the Branch House is Neji, excessive (Yang) in abilities.
This may also be further depicted by Neji's abilitiy to perform Kaiten (Heavenly Spin, Heaven is Yang) and Hakke Kūshō (Eight Trigrams Empty Palm, where 空 in 八卦空掌 can also mean Sky/Heaven, Heaven is Yang).
In Neji and Hinata's combo technique Hakke Kūhekishō, (八卦空壁掌, Eight Trigrams Empty Wall Palm), consistently, only Neji's hand take the form of Hakke Kūshō and Hinata's form may be accountable for the 'wall' or 'barrier' (壁).
*This does not necessarily mean Hinata is unable to perform techniques like Neji's, but she is yet to show them.
Izanagi: Yin gives way to Yang, Yang gives way to Yin
Izanagi is a technique used by the Sage of Six Paths, blurring the boundaries between reality and illusion.
The use of Izanagi shows the dynamic and interdependent properties of, though not limited to, a full Yin and a full Yang (i.e. the small dots are not opposite in colour).
