Today I was just browsing/surfing the Interwebs and came across an interesting theory, allow me to share with you now.

Ok, so, we all know the basic sharingan is something like this

Now, when we cross reference the two images together, we get this

Is the physical traits similar? The fact that the basic Sharingan and some Mangekyo Sharingan are based on triangles with a dot/eye in the middle? The striking resemblance is needless to say.

Now that has been said, we can look at the overall behaviours of the 2 Clans/Groups,
Most of the Uchiha favoured World Dominance, Just as Most Illuminati Members do(I think this is where I'm wrong)

There are some exceptions though, one being that people like Itachi and Shisui were not the kind that I just mentioned, I have no idea why this is, but if you have a suggestion for this, post it down below ^-^

Lastly, I have no idea is Kishi intended for this to happen, but that's why this is a theory and one to laugh at if you find it disbelieving.

Besides the physical traits you mentioned there is no other link between these two besides Maybe Itachi, The Illuminati were always said to want to control the world from the "Shadows" this is similar to what Itachi did staying in the dark protecting the leaf being labeled a criminal all that to do what was best for the Leaf like the Illuminati do for the World.

There are many numbers the occult use but 3, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 18, 28, 33, 39, 77 and 666 or any multiple of these numbers have special meaning to the Freemasons and the Illuminati.

These numbers are cleverly hidden in pieces of work, images, words, numbers, etc.

Today's chapter had 94 panels.

The number is composed by 9 and 4. If we add them, we can see that 9 + 4 = 13, a very well hidden symbol.

Why not 95 for it to be 14? Why not 96 for 15? 97 for 16? 98 for 17? 100 for 1? 93 for 12? 91 for 10? Why it had to be 13?

Sasuke appeared in 37 panels. 3 x 7 = 21 => 2 + 1 = 3. This one was better hidden.

This means a 666 is cleverly hidden at the beginning of this arc.

Today's chapter, 693, is 6 = 3 + 3; 9 = 3 + 3 + 3 and a 3. So 3 + 3; 3 + 3 and 3 + 3.

Another 666 and what is interesting is that Naruto and Sasuke have to fight yet.

Chapter 692 => Naruto and Sasuke get ready to fight.

Chapter 693 => Naruto and Sasuke get ready to fight.

Chapter 694 => Naruto and Sasuke begin.

See the pattern? Notice the lack of 666 from the upcoming chapter number, where Naruto and Sasuke will fight.
