He'd have to dodge Amaterasu first to make it into the cover of the forest. Not to mention the forest helps Sasuke's Enton spread quicker in large amounts, as fire spreads.

Anything above V1 Susanoo tanks every wrestling themed attacks Ay has to offer.Moreover he made his Susanoo before Kirin made contact to the ground proving how fast its start up time is.It takes a simple genjutsu to render Ay incapacitated.

I know, but my point if, he had time to react. He knew he needs to activate the Susanoo or he dies. And this is important.

If he has no intel about Ay's speed, he won't have time to activate the Susanoo. He won't have a reason to activate it.
