I doubt they can do anything, if they do see you do something bad from the PC or X1 and try to arrest you. They can't. It's invasion of privacy and technically that's self incrimination.

If they try suing you, they either have to drop the charges, or they get charged them self for such a device being made.

Windows doesn't necessarily suck. The reason many people think it does is because it was designed to be custom tailored to each business environment yet has been mass marketed to the general consumer.

When you first set up Windows on a computer, you're supposed to take time to configure many key aspects of the OS. Microsoft leaves this up to the OEM distributors - who have largely not bothered, other than to incorporate drivers and bloatware.

If you give me a Windows machine and a couple hours when you first get it - you'll never have a problem with it, and even the worst of viruses and malware can be fixed without losing your data (unless you decide to route things to a drive that you shouldn't).

With the exception of Window* 8. That's a lost cause.
