Looks: Typhon is a massive person standing at 6''5 and weighing nearly 350 pounds. Despite his heavy appearance he is deceptively quick as under the fat is a solid layer of muscle. His long life in the Land of Iron has rendered him immune to its cold and harsh environments. Rather than wearing traditional samurai armor, Typhon goes shirtless allowing his scarred body to show, along with his large stomach. He has short black hair on his head and no facial hair. Covering him from the waist to his ankles is the bottom portion of a black large hakama. On the left side of the hakama is a gold circular design surrounded by seven smaller circles. He lets the top portion of a men's kimono drape off the back part of the hakama. In the waist band he carries two katana on his left hip, and a large sake gourd on his right.
Personality: Typhon is a very serious man who doesn't often joke around. He is prone to angry outbursts that can be brought about numerous ways. As a large man he enjoys his rest, and when disturbed, the one disturbing him often loses their life. The second most common trigger is the mention of his weight. While he isn't ashamed of his size, he considers it disrespectful when others comment on it. The third, and maybe most dangerous trigger, is when his gourd of sake runs out. Typhon loves the taste of sake, but when it runs out, he snaps. The last time this happened, an entire village was destroyed, leaving no survivors. Due to a childhood tragedy he came to hate the ninja world. This hatred is so strong that any samurai who shows the slightest hint of leniency towards shinobi becomes his enemy.

His years of training has allowed him to move faster and more agile than a man his size would normally be capable of, though he is still slightly slower than a man of equal skill.

- Endurance: Given his size and body composition, Typhon is capable of taking a great deal of punishment. This is made evident by the large scars covering his body.

Background Info.
History: Typhon never learned where he was born or who his birth parents were. After his birth he was left on the doorstep of a samurai's manor during a rare rain storm. His cries woke the samurai who decided to take in the child. After several weeks of trying to find the child's parents, the samurai decided to take him in as his own. The family preformed a ceremony to initiate the child, giving him the name Typhon and presenting him with his very own katana and wakizashi. The parents gave the name Namidaame to the sword pair, meaning "Crying in the Rain" in reference to how Typhon was found.
Over the next decade, Typhon become very adept in the samurai arts. His father was very skilled, and passed that skill on to Typhon. The family had never told Typhon he wasn't their true child, but it didn't matter. They cared for him like their own and he was happy. The location of the family manor was near the border with the shinobi world. Though the shinobi knew to stay away, there were occasions where their wars spilled into the Land of Iron. On several occasions Typhon and his father were forced to fight back hostile ninja. With this narrow sample of encounters with shinobi, Typhon grew to despise them. He viewed them as shameless cowards, moving in the shadows to strike an opponent who didn't even know they were there. Typhon had slain numerous shinobi with Namidaame, and took pleasure in doing so. This didn't escape the eye of his father, who tried to change Typhon's view. He explained the value of life and of how killing was only a necessity, and how one should not take pleasure in it. He also tried to convince him that not all shinobi were bad. This didn't sit well with Typhon, and he began to think his father was weak, but he tried to accept what his father was telling him.
Several months later Typhon walked into a his father's quarters just to see him speaking with the leader of a shinobi squad. They were working out a truce that would allow ninja of the hidden cloud safe passage their their village. Typhon was furious that his father would accept a deal with the ninja, but hid it out of respect. However, his anger was well deserved. In the following days a group of ninja had come to stay at the manor. On the night before they were supposed to depart they silently crept through the manor as everyone slept. The ninja began to murder the inhabitants under the darkness of night. Typhon had been having trouble sleeping with the ninja in the manor, and kept an eye open at night with Namidaame close at side. When a ninja entered his room he was ready, and easily fought off and killed him. He ran through the manor checking on the others, only to find a dead body in each room. Lastly, he reached his parent's room and threw open the door. His father was sitting, kneeled over the body of his mother. His eyes were looking straight ahead, at Typhon, but not seeing him. In the center of his chest a blade stuck out, quickly being removed from the back allowing a spurt of blood to splash on Typhon's face as his father's body fell on top of his mother's. Typhon has no memory of what happened next, but when he regained consciousness he stood in the courtyard of the manor covered in blood and surrounded by the bodies of fifteen shinobi, Namidaame in hand. He looked up and it began to rain, cleaning him of the blood. Emotionless, he began to walk.

During the next few years Typhon wandered the Land of Iron. He moved from village to village searching for a way to avenge his family. Eventually he reached the capital and discovered the samurai army, whose sole purpose was to defend the Land of Iron from hostile shinobi forces. Seeing an opportunity to kill ninja he joined the army and began a new chapter. In the army he gained a reputation for being violent and merciless. His hatred of ninja also became common knowledge. Rather than socializing with the other samurai he spent most hours of the day training, and the others eating and drinking. Typhon had packed on quite some weight which often became an issue that others brought up, generally ending in a fight. The weight didn't bother him, but the lack of respect did. Soon enough Typhon had mastered the basics of samurai techniques such as the samurai saber technique and Iado, leading him to be sent out on assignments. Eventually, the world of samurai and ninja couldn't be seperated any longer. The world was being threatened by a man named Madara, and rumors of a joint force between samurai and ninja began to swirl. While standing guard atop the four faced hill in the Land of Iron, Typhon saw the caravan of ninja headed towards his capital.

Seeing that his worst fears had come to pass, Typhon could no longer align himself with the samurai forces. He cast off his armor and abandoned his post, killing the two other samurai who had been stationed with him. During the weeks that followed, as the world erupted in war, Typhon wandered again through the Land of Iron. He often ended up in northern taverns where he drank and ate to no end. On multiple occasions he drank the full supply of the taverns, resulting in their destruction. Tales of his drinking, eating and destruction spread across the land and eventually reached the ears of two interesting characters. Typhon had been drinking at a bar for several hours. The patrons and ownership recognized him from gossip and were fearful. They hoped he would leave prior the bar running out of sake, but it was futile. The final dropped poured from the cask and Typhon exploded. He began cutting down the patrons of the bar and destroying tables. However he noticed a table in the corner of the bar where two men sat calmly finishing their drinks. In a flash Typhon sprung towards the table, drawing his katana with the aim of killing the older looking man. In a moment Typhon lost sight of the smaller one and found his blade stopped against another. Who they **** are you, huh? The man looked up at him. Me? I'm nobody. The question is, who are you? Are you the one they call the "Dragon of the North"?

Namidaame: Literally meaning "Crying in the Rain", this is the name of the katana-wakizashi pair that Typhon has carried with him since he was very young. It is as much a part of him as the blood running through his veins.
