Two Worlds; Chapter 5: Why did you kill the dragons?!
Angel jumped in the air glee, and raises her arms high in the air as if she was a cheerleader.
"I'm so glad that you decided to become one of us." She said as she ran over and gave Johnny a hug around the neck.
"This girl is so spontaneous, one minute she's dark and crude, the other she's as gentle as butterfly." Johnny thought to himself.
"So what now?" Johnny asked as he grabbed her arms and politely moved them from around his neck.
"Next, we go meet the Captain. Be warned, he's the sternest of the stern, the cruelest of the cruel. You are going to have to watch your every word when around him, got it?" Angel said with her back to Johnny, as she looked at him over her shoulders, and gave him a cold stare."
"There she goes again." He thought. "Um...yeah, I'll be careful."
"Alright, let's get going." Angel said, as she waved at Johnny to follow her.
They came to a stop at a tall building, with huge mechanical sliding doors; the doors themselves looked like buildings to Johnny. Since he entered into this world, it's like he's been cast into the future. The technology he seen so far must have been thousands of years ahead of the world from which he came. Any moment Johnny was expecting Angel to position her retina in front of a scanner that would in turn obliterate Mount Everest and Fuji which was obstructing their entrance to what seemed like to Johnny; the entire continent of Asia. Yes, Johnny's imagination may have gotten the best of him sometimes...
"So, Angel, are you going to let us in or not?" Johnny said excitingly, as if at the circus, waiting to see the magician perform magic.
"Open up! It's me Angel!" She screamed as she put her hands over her mouth, and yelled through the little hole she formed with her fingers.
Oh yes, she did get the doors did open, but it wasn't as dramatic as Johnny had hoped. He stood without moving a limb on him. As if a blanket covered his mind, tucked away and hidden deep within a bed of slumber, as no thoughts whatsoever seemed to be on his mind.
"The...hell...was that?" He mumbled as he stood drooping, his arms hanged as if they were an expression of his body weeping.
"Oh come on, that was cool right?!" Angel yelled.
Johnny slowly turned his head toward Angel, not believing that she actually found excitement in that.
"Please....let's just go in already." He stated as he slowly turned his head back toward the door, and slowly began to enter, still hunching over, not yet completely over from such a disappointment.
"By the way, where's Thane?" Angel asked.
"Yes, I'm right here behind you guys, but of course I'm so easy to forget right?" Thane said with his arms crossed, pretending to look at the sky while staring at Angel out the corner of his eyes, expecting her to feel sympathy.
"Yep." Angel said as she skipped through the doorway.
"A fallen angel is what she is." Thane said as he followed Johnny and Angel through the entrance.
Johnny's demeanor quickly changed as he awed at the many wonders that inhabited that huge facility. He saw a horse whose body was completely made of fire, a man of gold from head to toe, and a Cyclops among many other strange creatures.
"So these are..." Johnny said puzzled, not able to finish his sentence.
"Yep, all manifestations of willpower." Angel said, as she embraced such an uplifting atmosphere.
She loved this place more than anything; she loved being surrounded by friends. no..they were more than friends, every single being here was family. They fought together, they laughed together, they ate together, and during the most difficult times; they came together.
"This place is so awesome!" Johnny yelled in amazement. "Where's the captain?!"
"He's coming now." Angel answered.
Descending from the ceiling was the ceiling. When Johnny looked up, he saw a huge square hole in the sky above, or at least that's what the top of this place looked like to Johnny. A huge box attached to four cables fell from that sky, and once it reached the earth on which Johnny, Angel and Thane was standing, a door opened up. Johnny's imagination led into a daydream in which lots of smoke crept out of that box, followed by heavy breathing, so heavy as if it was trying to inhale all the smoke that had escaped. Maybe he's watched too much Sci-fi, but he saw the glimmer of shiny black metal and was expecting to hear a very deep voice, and out stepped.....out stepped....
He was snapped back to reality by a voice so soft and gentle that it could hardly be heard over all the activities within the vicinity. Johnny's saw the two legs; the legs were thin, but extremely toned. At the bottom of those thin, but long branches were Hooves. Johnny's view then traveled back up until he saw the tree to which the braches were attached; albeit slim, it was a sturdy tree indeed. Johnny thought someone must have used a knife to curve the lines in this tree, but strange they didn't carve their name, maybe they were thirsty, and a six pack was the only thing that came to mind. Up above that weren't as many carvings, that must be because it's as hard as brick Johnny thought. There were two more branches extending from this tree, no matter how hard the winds blows these sticks, these branches will not sway.
Johnny noticed that the leaves of these branches were white. Not only that, but the tree itself was white, Johnny looked up further and saw what had to be one of the scariest things he ever saw...the face of a sheep. The sheep looked half asleep, very lazy-eyed, but they had a sense of composure and nonchalance to them.
The sounds of metal clashing rang through the air as Johnny fell on his back, landing onto the hard steel floor.
"You must be....Johnny." The captain said looking down on him with great conviction.
"I...I am." Johnny said as he arose from the floor.
"I thought so, and let me guess, Angel told you the same lie she tells every rookie. That I'm the sternest of the stern, the cruelest of the cruel, am I right? He said before yawning, covering his mouth with one of his hoofs."
"Yeah, you're right." Johnny said with an attitude looking over at Angel as she chuckled.
"Well, I'm the nicest of the nice....as long as you don't get on my bad side." He said as he yawned again, this time letting out a huge sigh.
"Ye--Yes sir." Johnny said.
"Well everyone into the elevator, we're going to my office." He said while entering the elevator.
"Uhh...Wait for us!" Thane yelled while trying to get to the elevator before it closed.
"Hold it for us Captain!" Angel said as she grabbed Johnny by the arm and dashed to the elevator.
The captain stood there, watching them run with no intention of holding it for them.
"Good, you made it." He stated while scratching the top of his head.
"Yeah, no thanks to you." Angel mumbled.
Once Johnny stepped out of the office, the first thing he saw was the Captain's desk. On the desk was a plaque, bearing the name Captain Hoolid. The office itself was pretty huge, not only that, but there was barely anything in it, just a few file cabinets and the desk. On the desk, were stacks of paper. Johnny thought about the Captain Hoolid's lazy demeanor, and wasn't surprised in the least.
"So, let's get to business shall we." Hoolid said as he sat down in his chair, and kicked his feet on the desk.
"Let's see..to start off, we are all manifestations of our own willpower. But there are stages to this, S1, S2, and S3. The S represents stage, and there are 3 stages. You are technically a S0, since you don't even know how to control S1 yet. The stronger your willpower become, the closer you get to reach a new stage. Your missions will be based on this, as there are frightening powerful foes out there. The NWP's goal is to free Nirvana from the grip of Sebastian; the lord of Nirvana, he's the most powerful there is, and all creatures recognize him as the Supreme Being. He's also taken control of the four powers; The Phoenix, The Unicorn, The Centaur, and the...Dragon King. And under these, he also has countless of other little minions. Now, up until a certain period, we all go back and forth from this world to the one from which we came. When the sun rises in the other world, you will go back there. Though that eventually ends, and how long it last is different for everyone. In the end, most of us get stuck here, we believe it's some kind of final test, to see which world we belong to. A lot of us are actually adults now. And...I think that about covers it. Any questions?"
"That's right; Angel was saying something similar, that I might go back. Even if it's for a day. I don't want to go back there; I've already made up my mind."
Johnny said frustratingly, gripping his bicep tight and staring down at the floor as those bad memories began to swim through his mind.
Hoolid stared at him for a good few seconds, as something seemed to ponder the Captain's mind.
"Don't worry, the time will pass fast. Are you ready to begin your training?" He said before sighing.
"Yes I am." Johnny said immediately, as he focused his attention on the eyes of Hoolid's, showing his confidence.
"Very well then." Hoolid said as he pressed a button under his table and opened up a trap floor in which Johnny suddenly disappeared into.
"Phew…that's one scary kid, why the hell does he talk with three voices?" Hoolid said scratching his head.
"I noticed that as well....that's quite unusual, even for this place." Thane stated.
The Captain immediately rose from his chair in frustration, and fixed his glare on Angel.
"Now, tell me what the hell went wrong out there. Why did you kill the dragons?!" Hoolid yelled.
"
They attacked us first Captain! I didn't know what was going on either." Angel said defensively.
"Damn it all...and just when we were negotiating an alliance with the Dragon King, I need you to go to the Land of Colors and get the truth. I know it's dangerous, but it has to be done for a better future for all. Now, get going now." Hoolid said as he sat in his chair and spent it in the opposite direction, and let out a short sigh.
Everyone cleared the room, and Hoolid stared up at the ceiling.
"That sure is an interesting boy..."
