The main problem with your theory is that Sasuke needed Orochimaru to lead him to whomever he is looking for. This fact alone eliminates the vast majority of characters in the series. It is reasonable to assume that the person/people that Sasuke is looking for are only known to a few people (including Orochimaru), otherwise Sasuke could just Genjutsu the crap out of anybody to get the information he wants.

Yeah most likely someone who has knowledge of his clan he'll meet up with. who knows that place might be the hideout of the elders.
