Shuriken fly as the two shinobi met in the forest. Both had their loyalties: one from the land of lightning, one from the land of stone. The man from the land of lightning was quick to engage with the huge sword that was once collapsed. The man from the land of stone quickly parried with a katana of his. A fierce battle of Kenjutsu went on and it appeared that the two men were evenly matched in the art of the sword. After his last parry, the man from the land of lightning cast a shroud of lightning chakra around his blade and thrusted his sword at his opponent. The man from the stone quickly started dodging instead of countering his opponents attacks, realizing he was on the losing side of the fight. The man of the stone weaved a flurry of hand signs and shouted,
"Doton Doryūheki!" Walls erupted around the user of the jutsu buying him time to get some distance and analyze his opponent but the man outside the walls of earth had already formulated his next attack strategy.
"Suiton Seibun Hōfutsu!" Water started to fill the barricade that the man from the stone had created.
"He's adept at Suiton too?" thought the man from the stone. He was running every scenario through his head on how to get out of this situation but nothing was coming up.
"That should be enough," said the man from the land of lightning, "Raiton Raikou Oonami!" Lighting chakra ran though the water that crept into the makeshift barricade. A scream of pain came from within and the man from the land of lightning knew he had won. He started moving toward his original objective once again, until the ground started shaking below him.
"Doton Kujo Joushou Iwa Chuuseki!" Spiked rock pillars grew upward from the ground nearly impaling the man who had once thought himself victorious. He dodged left, then right, then upward into the tree's to escape the deadly spires. He looked around for the caster of the jutsu and saw him emerge from the earth below him.
"That's quite the set of jutsu you have there," declared the man from the stone, "both water and lightning at your disposal,"
"Yeah, I'm sorry i have to face you," said the man from the land of lightning.
"It seem's your reputation precedes you, Darui of Kumogekure."
