Things don't go any easier for our hero. After saving the village twice they decide to capture him. I do believe it will work out in his favor because it gives him an opportunity to connect with his allies. Koji's prescience stole the show this chapter, but the real question is how much of Hidari's identity is intact?

You know how Madara was kept alive by the Gedo Mazo and then resurrected? Remember that Sasuke and Madara are Indra's vessel, so it's plausible to say that they will have similar experiences. What I'm trying to say is that Sasuke may have just resurrected as Hidari.

Is it a stretch to say that Sasuke "grew" a new rinnegan after years of being attached to a chakra tree? Is it a thorn soul bulb?

That is an interesting way to look at it. Six Paths Sasuke was able to manipulate the ten tails chakra at vote2. But him resurrecting in Hidari's body would be crazier than Momoshiki living inside of Boruto.
