I tell myself this everyday
but in the scheme of things, it always a big fat zero
zilch, nada, nothin', no one
Clenching onto straws
I try my darndest to uphold what's left of my sanity
in check, write me a cheque, what's next to check on?

as I beat down a dead fleeting romance
romance for none, avoiding me on purpose
