I like Linkin Park's many old songs, but I stopped and have little interest in them.
I got the entire blurryface album by twentyonepilots, and its pretty good.

I choose twentyonepilots.

I was only feeling away away backnin the day lol. Always thought Green Day was Garbage. Sum 41 was better.

Liking park was good back in he days not right now the pilots fellas I don't like.

Listen to Dangerkids if you miss the old liking park
Wake Me Up When September Ends is a classic, and the video was better.

"Well, I thought of all those people you would understand. Why don't you understand? I did this for us, I did it for us. This is supposed to make it easier. I thought you'd be proud of me, I thought at least of all people, you would already understand why I did this!!"

mmm, i dislike both. but i like alternative music, this stuff isnt that

i actually give some of the blame to Linkin Park as to why rock music fell from mainstream popularity. it all started with Limp Bizkit, then it was just like a era of terrible mainstream rock bands. Korn, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Nickleback. it was really bad so mainstream kids switched to Nu Metal, Post/Hardcore, Metalcore, Screamo, etc.

during the time i was in middle school i believe, i remembered hating those bands. it was a problem because for whatever reason, all the kids that were into fantasy/scifi/anime stuff liked these bands. everyone lived Evanescene for some reason, at the time i was listening to Psychedelic Pop, Old-school hip-hop and jazz and had a hard time relating to music with them. but we would just play video games

sonically both bands never really did anything for me. i mean Hip-hop comes from Rock n Roll. i could listen to the Beastie Boys who did this sound way better justice imo. Twenty One Pilots is trying to revive this lame trend but with more indie pop. im not feeling it sorry

I had never heard 21 Pilots before, so I checked them out. I really don't know why you would compare them to Linkin Park to be honest. I wouldn't even consider them in the same genre. 21 Pilots sound more like Imagine Dragons or the chorus to an Eminem song. I listened to a few songs off Linkin Park's first album back when I was in high school, but I never really liked them. I can't say I'm a big fan of 21 Pilots either, but I feel like their sound will be more mainstream accessible, which in turn should give them higher record sales than Linkin Park.

Are they that different? I never noticed. They sound similar to me, and when I first listened to Car Radio I could hear a bit of Linkin Park's influence or I was just imagining it. It could be true that they're not exactly in the same genre. Isn't Twenty One Pilots soft rock? I just googled what genre they're under and this is what popped up: Alternative hip hop,
Electropop,
Indie pop,
Rock music
and when I searched Linkin Park, here's what appeared: Alternative rock,
Nu metal,
Alternative metal,
Rap rock,
Electronics in rock music

I don't know about you but when there are more than two things in common we presume they're the same, and the genres are only five under which they can be placed. Which blatantly puts them in almost the same genre. So I'm not quite agreeing with your analogy. And they do have a similar sound; maybe you just haven't really listened to the band as much as Linkin Park. What gives them higher sales and what not doesn't matter, or if we analyzed them that way it would cause a lot of issues. If they do let's just say 21 Pilots will just be the better band; they after all got about the same opportunities in their respective ways

I haven't listened to Linkin Park since high school. Back then they were just Nu Metal - uninteresting Nu Metal. If they have gotten softer and incorporated more rap since the mid 1990s, I'd have no idea - I'll take your word for it. 21 Pilots definitely has an indie rock/electronica sound mixed with hip hop. As a musician I can say they sound too dissimilar to compare in terms of musical structure, therefore I'm comparing them by record sales and marketing accessibility to evaluate if they "surpassed Linkin Park." Maybe you need to define the criteria in which you are comparing them. It seems like you're just going off what you like better, and that is too subjective to have any discussion.
