Hiashi Knew Neji's talents who he didn't train and he would certainly know Hinata's who he trained. He would also know Hanabi's, Hiashi took Hanabi to show him Neji's performance. The reason for that was so she see's what he expects of her. Hiashi would only do that since he knows what she's capable of otherwise he wouldn't have taken Hanabi. It's evident if Neji low diffed Hinata so could did Hanabi Hime, it's okay thoughHinata wasn't really made for it.

lol.. i am confused at this point. Is there anything in canon that points to there being a fight between the two? The Db says Hinata suppressed her talents... that doesn't mean there was a fight and its a conclusion we would all (except the trolls of course) get to if we rid ourselves of confirmation bias because of the filler. I don't see anything that makes this not canon. the lack of information in the manga leaves open the possablity the anime is canon.

That is not how it works though.. especially on NB. Not to mention the underlined is not true. We know why Hinata was demoted and that was because of her persona which hindered her abilities.. something Hiashi would have most definitely noticed if Kurenai could plus iit was mentioned in the 3rd DB.

Well based on ABC logic she solos momoshiki and all that.

Kurenai was able to see the skill in Hinata and said some things about her in the Neji fight. it was her choice to lose the fight to her sister.
