This is what happens when you don't fight back.

Once again, fighting gains nothing. This time it's the bully who has to suffer repercussions and the kid who died tragically.
Yes it does, if the kid would just fight back, kicked him in the nuts and run they would both surviveOnce again, fighting gains nothing. This time it's the bully who has to suffer repercussions and the kid who died tragically.
Come on. If the kid had bothered to defend himself, he would be alive today.

Well that's the bullies faultOr the bully would possibly be dead like in the other article.
Again, not to me. But we all have opinions. I am honestly getting rather sick of this stuff taking place in schoolyards too. Where's the teachers? That's what annoys me most.

You're right about that
Well then it's the same right?
Why bother defending then?
I remember when fights would break out at my school when I was little (back in the late 80's early 90's), a teacher would be near by and we'd just run to them to tell them and the fight would end.
No one wins. And kids should not be growing up this way. Lack of authoritative figures most likely.

Ok, but if you were in his shoes, would you just stand there and face the same fate.
But it was already too late. Once it started, no parenting or authority figured would make a difference. We can't turn back the clock.
It's easy to criticize someone's actions when you haven't even walked a foot in their shoes.

I don't criticize the kids, I criticize how kids are being brought up, how lack of security is growing stronger (school shootings for example) and as an adult myself I am disgusted by how we do nothing until it's too late.
Oh and I was bullied but she never went through with her threat when I stood there and let her try (she wanted to break my fingers) and I reported her and hand a rather swollen hand that day. Female bullies can be a bit different though.
I'm sorry but that is pretty funny XDI remember one time when the teacher ran to stop them and the kid ducked and the other kid sent the teacher flying with a fist to the face by accident. That ended badly. very badly for that kid...
Male bullies are more violent, stronger, and more dangerous. That's why it's rare to hear of a female killing someone with mere punches.
Then can be trained to be less violent, sure. But it's a struggle. There many cultural/social factors involved. What about the demented sociopaths. There's no stopping them.
Training in self defense is always needed.
