Katsuyu is as big ( or slightly smaller ) than the 8 branches. She can split acid on his heads to melt them.
How can Manda eat Katsuyu who is as big as him? And what stops Katsuyu from melting Manda from inside?

Incorrect. Manda is bigger than Katsuyu and the 3rd databook itself says Oro's hydra form is even bigger than Manda. She spits acid on one of the heads and the other 7 catch her, forcing her to split into tiny Katsuyus who can be easily shoved out of the way or eaten.
If Tsunade is outside alone, she gets devoured and digested.

You mean the scales which he uses to crawl? I severely doubt that her spit would produce enough acid to stop that gargantuan hydra. She can't spit enough to cover herself, let alone something 3x bigger than her.
