Tsunade vs Itachi

She cannot counter Tsukuyomi, she cannot counter Amaterasu, she cannot counter Totsuka no Tsurugi. On her own she couldn't destroy a stage two Susanoo either, especially if the user is fighting seriously.

I'm inclined to say that Itachi could even defeat her without Mangekyou Sharingan, thanks to his outstanding illusionary abilities, that even owned Orochimaru, whose Genjutsu skill is superior to that of Tsunade.

I know this thread won't get many favorable responses but people are underating Tsunade. People think she's fairly weak in comparison to other high level shinobi. But what took the cake for me just know is that someone said Itachi>>>>> Tsunade. If Tsunade loses it won't be a great loss. She is a very good counter to Uchihas in general. The Same way Hashirama was a good counter to Madara and his Mokuton a good counter to Kurama.
Allow me to lay out my case.

• Amaterasu- Tsunade may not be able to dodge Amaterasu, but She can rip off or Medically Cut off her arm or leg or whatever. And guessing by how she regrew all those organs she lost when her entire stomach was impaled she can probably regrow them. Furthermore when know she has an incredible mental fortitude that allows her to work through pain as shown by her defending Naruto and launching an attack after being Stabbed by the sword of kusanagi and sliced by it.
• Tsukuyomi- Firstly I believe she has the mental fortitude to withstand Tsukuyomi considering she overcame her paralyzing hemophobia with sheer will power.Further more we all know that Tsukuyomi is genjutsu. Of all characters living she has the best chakra control. We know her chakra control is great because she says healing requires a lot of chakra. Yet she healed an entire village.

  You may now say Itachi said only Closely related Uchihas can break Tsukuyomi. If you consider that Itachi lies to protect his brother and he plotted for his brother to get his eyes. Then if anyone knew this wasn't true that would put Sasuke in danger. Thus we're not sure if Itachi's words are true. As she can treat Tsukuyomi.

  Judging by how easily it was cured. I say she has a pretty good knowledge about how Tsukuyomi works and how exactly it affects the brain. In addition we know she lived to meet her Grandfather and GrandUncle. Her Grandfather fought against Madara several times so no doubt he taught her not to get trapped in Genjutsu and not to look an Uchiha in the eyes. Furthermore I'm sure he would have showed her a technique similar to Gai's sharigan avoidance. Given Gai isn't that smart. (He thought Kisame was his true self.) I see know reason Tsunade can't do the same. And we don't know how Uchiha genjutsu's affect people of the Senju clan. Itachi probably never fought an Senju and wouldn't have known whether they were capable of breaking it or not. And I imagine Madara and the Elder son of the So6P would have had an easier time if Senju's fell pray to their Genjutsus. In addition a mini katsuya on her shoulder would be able to inject chakra into Tsunade's system.

  You guys may say A full susanoo is stronger, but if one her punches creates such damage to a version of Susanoo it's really only a matter of strikes til full Susanoo gives way. We also know that Raikage punched through Susanoo's skelton (with Oonoki's help) after Mei melted it with lava

  Tsunade has Katsuya to provide melting via acid and Tsunade is still physically stronger than the A and Oonoki combo (as only her hits actually broke Susanoo's ribs when he reformed them though A and Oonoki tried) she should be able to do the same.
• Fire Release- Her skin will be burned but it's tankable.
• Yasaka Magatama- She literally tanked three of them right after being impaled.

However, if Itachi has taken her as lightly as his fans do and doesn't use those two items then Tsunade can take him, with her strength, her summon, her medical knowledge, her regeneration, her poison, and her Pathway Disturbance. If at any point any of her attacks make contact with his actual body then He's done. The fact of the matter remains Tsunade is a top tier shinobi with the counters to the sharingan.

Sage Mode Madara with Hashirama's regenerative capability (which he specifically likened to Byakugo) was unable to pop out a new arm. No reason to believe Tsunade can. And even if she can, chopping your arm off in the heat of battle isn't as easy as you're trying to make it sound. She will have to not pay attention to Itachi to do this, and that can prove to be fatal in of itself.

Furthermore, you are ignoring the chakra toll that regrowing an arm will have on her, not to mention how long it will take for her to actually regrow an entire limb.

Yeah, none of this really matters in the face of Tsukuyomi. It happens in an instant; she won't have time to realize she is in a Genjutsu, gather chakra, and make the seals for Kai release.

Judging by how easily it was cured.

Curing it from the comfort of a hospital on another person isn't the same as breaking yourself / healing yourself out of it in the heat of battle.

Her Grandfather fought against Madara several times so no doubt he taught her not to get trapped in Genjutsu and not to look an Uchiha in the eyes. Furthermore I'm sure he would have showed her a technique similar to Gai's sharigan avoidance.

Why would he do that? The war with the Uchiha was long over by the time Tsunade was born, and the Uchiha were allies to the village. What is the basis for her having a technique like Gai's? Gai is Kakashi's rival and fought him numerous times to have developed a specific anti-Genjutsu style. That isn't something you get to baselessly pass around to other characters like tic-tacs.

Itachi hurls a kunai at it and knocks it off her shoulder prior to Tsukuyomi. And as I said earlier, Tsukiyomi happens too fast for the partner method to work or for the Kai method to work. The only way to fight it after getting caught is to actively combat it with a Sharingan of your own.

Susano'o only broke after being hit by a Suiton, being hit from behind by Raikage / Onoki, and finally getting punched by Tsunade. All the Kages contributed to that assault. Tsunade admittedly did the brunt of it, but it isn't her feat alone, and it is a rib cage only. Itachi is capable of conjuring a fully armored Susano'o, and Tsunade has no feats of breaking anything near that level. Even against V4 Susano'o clones, all she did was knock them over, not break them.

Tsunade has Katsuya to provide melting via acid and Tsunade is still physically stronger than the A and Oonoki combo (as only her hits actually broke Susanoo's ribs when he reformed them though A and Oonoki tried) she should be able to do the same.

Itachi is too fast and Katsuyu is far too slow in comparison to be viable support here. You are completely ignoring the massive speed / reflex gap here.

The fact of the matter remains Tsunade is a top tier shinobi with the counters to the sharingan.

So being a slow, linear fighter with one of the manga's most predictable and one dimensional fighting styles with absolutely no versatility whatsoever is a counter to the Sharingan? Good to know.
