So, Tsunade, being just one of those Kage, and not even the best Kage, is really not even comparable to her grandfather.

It's a terrible match up for Tsunade... nonetheless, we haven't seen all of her abilities... I certainly believe she could have long range Jutsu we don't know about. Given how far she can throw that giant knife of Bunta's, I'm feeling pretty confident she can throw a rock whatever range she feels like to hit Deidara. She also has a giant slug to ride (and which can spit acid long distances). I don't feel like distance is enough to save Deidara in this fight. Let's remember, it's fair to say "neither side gets intel in advance", provided you're consistent about it. So if Tsunade doesn't know about C4, then Deidara doesn't know she is crazy strong, or able to regen without seals, in which case Deidara will get F#@$'d on pretty fast. It's entirely possible Tsunade's regen can fully counteract C4... her regen at full is pretty crazy, and C4 hits once (not continously like Ameratsu). People are hyping C4 up alot... read what it does... it's lots and lots of micro explosions... Tsunade can heal from that.

If both sides do get intel, isn't Tsunade likely to be charging herself with a lightning aura anyway (something we've seen her do in the anime)? In which case, she can avoid C4 completely probably. C4 also takes some time to set up, it's not instant, and if both sides are bloodlusted, the first thing Tsunade is going to do is throw something through Deidara's head, which means he can't take the time to do C4, because he'll be killed instantly by a case of rock through head. Or killed by a giant slug spitting acid all over him (the slug is bigger than the range of C4 as well, meaning while it would be bad for the Slug, Tsunade should be fine... the Slug can likely regen after anyway after losing 40% of it's mass or whatever C4 does). Deidara hasn't gone up against someone with Tsunade's physical hitting power, and even Sasuke was trying to take him alive (in order to get intel out of him). Bloodlusted Tsunade just throws something at him with all her strength (like a rock or kunai) and Deidara dies instantly on being hit with something thrown at that velocity.
