In not hating on her but I think it would've been best if the gokage died except gaara and mei. Why? Well it would be more impactful than simply handing the reins to naruto. Also why mei and gaara? They represent the new generation. Although mei is in her thirties she represents A LOT of change in the mist. They used to be terrified of people with kekei genkai and she has three! Not only that but she brought them out the bloody mist era. So Darui replaces A (I think Darui would be a better kage than B) that rock general with the mountain slam or if oonoki has a secret disciple with jinton and naruto replacing tsunade what do you think?

Honestly, the only one who should have survived was Gaara. The death of the other Gokage would help improve character development for a few characters and definitely would have helped progress the plot.

I rather her live, if she died it would have speed up sakura development, and her surpassing her, but now it enhanced what she will be able to do, Tsunade survive being cut in half, and was still able to operate and heal...Sakura gonna surpass her, heaven only knows what she will be able to do.

Tsuchikage shouldn't be kept alive though.
Kishi kept them alive only to say that the current Gokages will do their best to accomplish what the first Gokages couldn't Lol
